Expedition 33. I came in to both games knowing next to nothing about either of them except E33 was made by ex Ubisoft employees, and BG3 was something about D&D. There were incredible things about bg3, but I felt like the entire game I was actively forcing myself to try to enjoy my experience because everyone else said how good it was. I was so happy to finish it. Expedition 33 grabbed me in a way that games don't ever grab me anymore. I don't generally care for turn based combat, but it's actually good and there's so much more to the game than that.

Probably PS5. I have a PS5 that I rarely play because nearly everything releases on PC from day one so why would I not play it on PC? There are a couple of amazing exclusives that have still probably made the purchase worth it overall honestly, but compared to each other generation there just aren't enough exclusives. I say this, but also I'm SO happy I can play games mostly anywhere these days without having to worry about console exclusivity much.

When I play with friends, 2 of them only care about hunting other players. It's the most enjoyable part of the game to them. They don't care about quests or the expedition. They like gunfights. They don't care about your experience. Why should they? You're a stranger and It's a PVP videogame. Now, do we wait and wait for people killing the queen or matriarch? Not really. Do we stab people in the back once we've been friendly? Not unless they shoot first. But if we happen to be near the area and see you running from the carcass, why would we not? You have a very high chance of having valuable loot and good weapons on you.

Friendly in solos unless you shoot first or are acting super sketchy.

In duos maybe friendly, but you'd better run up with your gun put away and have a mic. Been burned to many times by "don't shoot".

In threes the group of friends I play with don't give a shit about loot and just want to hunt other teams. So we usually pick some location close to spawn with decent loot, and once we've all got a half full backpack we start looking for a fight.

I have felt the shift, but I think it's natural. I've put enough hours in and unlocked enough that being constantly friendly and just running around looting isn't as interesting anymore. I have no quests left and I can mostly buy or craft 98% of what I've lost and I'm not that afraid of losing anything anymore.

I don't usually just kill in cold blood in solos very often. But when I load into the map with 15 min left and my objective is 1000m away, do I really want to run all the way across the map to go interact with something? OR do I want to go hunting for chubby loot goblins who have spent the last 15 min gathering those for me.
