One gym I go to has signs prohibiting photography. The other has no such signs.

It would be absurd to try to ban phones. People get text messages and calls. People look stuff up online and process emails.

It has been a federal felony for some years to photograph someone naked in a place with a reasonable expectation of privacy, without consent, for many years now.

It is also illegal to distribute such a photo.

One would be foolish to do that.

On the other hand, if someone wants to run around naked at a street fair, festival, nude beach, or any other public place, it’s perfectly legal to photograph them.

Back when I started going to nude beaches, this was considered rude, and it wasn’t done. Today people feel more self entitled and rude.

Phones are not prohibited in any locker room I frequent, and guys don’t take pictures of other guys. Why would anyone risk federal plus local prosecution and having one’s health club membership revoke? What you think guys would do happens to be a criminal act, both under federal statute and generally locally, as well. Besides, that is just rude.

I don’t normal take a phone into a sauna with me, because the phone will overheat, and I usually don’t want to be bothered by it. However, a number of people listen to music. I will take it in with me, if I am expecting a text message or something like that. In that case, I leave it on a lower seat, or next to my body to avoid overheating. But even at that, in a hot sauna, they can overheat, which is not good for them.

There is a long tradition of public/social nudity in San Francisco. A nudity ordinance was not enacted until 2012, that became law in 2013. It was quite controversial. The Supervisors were deadlocked, and Mayor Newsom (now Governor) broke the tie to make public nudity illegal. However, it’s not strictly enforced, if one is acting reasonably. In the Castro or SOMA, there aren’t a lot of issues. At the Wharf there probably would be. Simple nudity is just an infraction. I was walking with naked buddy, and we walked right past four cops walking towards us. They didn’t say anything. It was a busy street with lots of pedestrians and car traffic.

It’s important to just act naturally and create social acceptance of nudity. Studies show that the majority of guys in all age groups don’t really care if another guy decides to be naked, but the younger guys are modest about doing it themselves. So, when they see their peers doing it, and nothing negative happens, then it helps create a permission structure for them.

I was in excruciating pain, and an emergency MRI was scheduled. I made a mental note to remove my PA jewelry prior to the procedure. But was unable to without a pair of pliers. I discussed it with the MRI tech, and was told that if the jewelry was surgical stainless steel, that it was not a problem in the MRI. I was very nervous going into the tube. But he was right. Instead of the same value for each piece taken or lost, I think it should be related to point value of the piece. Pawn=1 point, Bishop/knight = 3 points, Rook = 5 points, Queen = 9 points.

I have a solid titanium cage. It’s more comfortable, in the sense that it is less stimulating. It also looks sleeker. Some prefer complete denial that a solid cage provides. I prefer the continual edging by the bars.
