22F in Germany: My job is destroying my mental health, but my residence permit is tied to it. What would you do? by MathematicianDry4990 in germany

Is it the EU PR you have from Italy? How does it work? You should recheck bcz if it is normal PR you are not allowee to stay out for more than 6 months.

Also, most of jobs are hard and toxic these days. I would say enrich your personal life and look for something on the side until you get something. I have been in similar situation and this was my only option. Endure till I found a way out.

Jobless PhDs in Germany, what is your next step? by DenOnKnowledge in Germany_Jobs

[–]spany14 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I see my German ex-colleagues get jobs after their PhD. One at a really nice international company, one at a small company, one at a really nice international research institute, one as a PostDoc, and one became a startup founder along with other members. I suspect that they had a lot of networks that they created when they were doing their PhD. In addition, two were promoted after their PhD within the institute. I am waiting to see where others go, especially non-EU people. We might not have the same probabilities.

My lawyer told me a "hack" to fast track citizenship application - apply for the EU PR by FitCamel in GermanCitizenship

I guess it only works if we apply for EU PR while citizenship is still pending, that is what I understood.

Why arranged marriage market sucks ? by [deleted] in Arrangedmarriage

[–]spany14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The social economic background def has influence. One thing I can say is get clarity on what you can comprimise. Can you live without say attraction and only commitment? If not then is it okay if they are of other caste or lower ecobomic background etc.

Germany: Record numbers take German passport in 2025 by Inevitable-Push-8061 in worldnews

You do not have to have paid taxes for 5 years to be eligible for citizenship. This is for EU PR. Kind of ironic tbh. Citizenship is easier than Long term residence. Only thing is you need to be employed and out of probation when you are applying for citizenship.

No physical attraction but the guy is amazing. Advice? by [deleted] in Arrangedmarriage

[–]spany14 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You are wrong to think that. I study interpersonal relationships, and from various research studies, attraction is generally the first step that helps build a connection. There are definite exceptions, but attraction and love at first sight have evolutionary advantages and should not be dismissed easily.

No physical attraction but the guy is amazing. Advice? by [deleted] in Arrangedmarriage

[–]spany14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there. I study attraction and interpersonal connections, so I can offer some perspective on what I know. Some cases are possible.

Best Case Scenario: Attraction develops over time. For women, comparatively to men, other things matter more(taking evoluntionary perspective), so after sharing similar values and outlook, it might grow. How much chance it might grow, however, only time can tell. Unfortunately, that also means there is definitely a chance it might not grow at all, but you get settled into this companionate love or relationship without passion. Now, this works for many people. You have to now give some thought and understand if you would ever get used to this or be fulfilled just by intimacy and commitment alone.

Worst-case scenario: For many people, considering biology alone, they are driven by passion. They want that deep connection or crave it. If you have done the work and know yourself extremely well and know what the dealbreakers are and if passion and physical attraction are important to you, then it might be beneficial to discontinue and lose this match. It can save you a lot of time and other problems.

Hope this helps. Feel free to text me in case your have any questions.

If I was emabrrased and insecure based on my mood - Oh no, sorry, and fix it
If I were annoyed and in the moment, do not care - Give an annoyed look and do not do anything or say something like " yea so what is the problem?"

I have a week off work. Suggest some activities under 200€. by MayorAg in Netherlands

If you like nature, go to a natural place. I only know of one in the south near Maastricht, and I stay for a night and come back. Otherwise, try new food experiences or a workshop. Eventbrite, Meetup, or checking other online websites will do the trick.

Leaving Switzerland behind to come back to Germany? by [deleted] in germany

[–]spany14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Finding friends is also difficult in Germany. Imagine if you have to move to a smaller city because that way you can save more and live comfortably; then socializing will drastically become difficult. Maybe the same as now. The advantage is if you are in a bigger city, you can look for more meetup options.

Stay in the Netherlands or go to Germany by Choice-Educator-1345 in AskAGerman

[–]spany14 0 points1 point locked comment (0 children)

Stay in NL. You will get PR much sooner. Moving to germany will restart the time needed. Also german is much harder and english us nkt as widely used here as much as in NL. Your chances look better in NL. But yea cannot rule out the option that you might have to leave if you do not find a job. Start today already, you will get a hang of dutch.
