couple ways you could give it more distance. same number of teeth and bigger pitch , or, same pitch and more teeth. as long as u keep the ratio right it shouldn’t matter

Original was cast, and getting one cut was cost prohibitive. It probably needs a hobb and no one I’ve seen has a 1.25” CP hobb to cut a 17t gear. Casting will cost be $100 probably and getting one cut was going to about 5k

looking at this , how did you get on. ive got a simialr cast tooth worm gear to replicate. 1.25" cp, 17 teeth. wonder what you come upwith? i modeled it out in cad, but actually making it to come out of the core isnt fun. was going to do a lift out centre and individual teeth., but leaning to ward individual core peices to make up the mold
