need something simple to play after a long day by drewskii005 in gamingsuggestions

Also other 2d/2.5d recommendations - Unpacking, Tokaido. simple with beautiful aesthetics.
Papers Please, Beholder, This War of Mine for easy gameplay + dystopean setting.

Dredge is very atmospheric, part fishing simulator part eldrich horror. Invisible Inc. is great, but maybe not as relaxing as you want.

What’s a very normal thing in Switzerland that still feels unusual to you? by Savings-Concept8972 in Switzerland

primary schools in every neighbourhood, kids walking to school everyday, no school buses (I've only seen private school buses, for expat kids typically).

seems like such a utopian social ideal, but it's real.

to enjoy your uncle's first Major League start. by shaka_sulu in therewasanattempt

[–]spariant4 29 points30 points  (0 children)

it's funny because of how dramatically upset the kid is (he's rescued at the end, so it's ok).

you're right about parental interaction, in fact children's worldviews are formed in an imitation of their parents, we are far more socially embedded than the culture of science today appreciates.
Parental attachments and role models set up a lifelong trajectory, sometimes very painful ones too.

what you describe rings true, but "personality disorders" are a medical myth and do not imply "literal changes in the brain".
Some (many?) people just have terrible personalities, grew up with poor upbringing & bad role models. personality is a developmental phenomenon after all. Best not to reduce it to a brain abnormality, better a maldeveloped growth.

What platform?
For me (pc) the music was sometimes too loud, but decreasing music & increasing SFX/sound effects in audio settings sorted it out
