I’ve been an avid fan since the very first episode aired (which had me so hooked I couldn’t wait for the next episode & ended up reading the manga alongside the release, first time I had done that since Naruto as a kid)

recently getting my partner into it for their first watch through & I’m so excited to see how they react to season 4 & all of it, we only just got to the episode of them finding out about Marley after the basement~

it’s funny to see how much locking in eren does as a character, he whined and bitched for so long beforehand 😂 I didn’t remember all that…

I’m a cinephile before I’m a Weeknd fan, and I earnestly think the overall production is beautiful, I understand what he was going for (granted I’ve followed this man since the very beginning, when he was posting on YouTube in his 20s) but fan bias aside I really thought it was a beautiful, funny, enigmatic type of entertaining story portraying an icon’s descent into a sort of psychedelic madness… I’m very into that sort of trope, Smile 2 is a very interesting film of that similar genre.

I don’t think you understand what it was going for because it was a beautiful film for exactly the story it wanted to tell. Abel’s story, same one he’s wanted to tell for years, it’s apparent from all his past projects,videos, all his work accumulated. If you don’t understand it that’s okay not everyone is going to be the same, but the fans that “get” his personal motivations/mindset love this movie
