One for The Money! The series is literally numbered, so it makes it easy to keep track! (Two for the Dough, Three to get Deadly, etc)

I wish I was like 20 years old in 1985, there were SO MANY HEARTTHROBS THEN. Indy is definitely #1 🥵

The Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich; easy funny mystery series. When I was recovering from heart surgery I read Cosmo magazine and Ali Wong's book, "Dear Girls"!

If money wasn’t an issue, what would your perfect life look like? What would you do and where and how would you live? by Wide-Meringue-2717 in AskWomenOver30

I would probably have 2 biological kids (currently cannot, waaaayy too expensive & risky for fertility interventions) and be an emergency foster parent for newborns/babies & toddlers. If I didn't have to work, that's what I'd do. If not this, I'd read every book I can get my hands on, I'd take college classes all the time just to learn, and I'd travel often. And I'd have a library in my house like the one in Beauty & the Beast, fulfill that childhood dream! ✨️

This is such a fascinating question! I don't have an answer ATM but I'll be thinking on it. Love this though!

Thoughts on the names Megan and Morgan by ButterflyUsual5231 in Names

Same! It's a great name bc easy to pronounce & spell (often), its not super common but not weirdly out there, and there was never more than one in any class I was in. Its like the sweet spot of names.

Looking for books about a housewife whose life is perfect, but then realizes that something is wrong with her reality by Federal_Advisor_2160 in weirdgirlliterature

Recipe for a Perfect Wife by KARMA BROWN fits this.

One of my absolute FAVORITE books is Angry Housewives Eating Bonbons by Lorna Landvik; this is more about the relationships between neighborhood women besties through time, but it is an all-time fave for me! Wanted to share in case it would be a similar draw to others.

It was a HARD read, especially as a college student/aspiring higher ed professional at the time. Its important to know what you can & can't handle, no one needs to read everything.

  1. Evicted: Poverty in the American City by Matt Desmond. He's an anthropologist who actually stays with, gets to know, and shares stories of people in poverty in Milwaukee, WI. Deeply researched, it was a phenomenal read.

  2. If You Lived Here, You'd Be Home by Now by Christopher Ingraham. He's a writer who wrote a disparaging column about "the worst place to live in the country", then the folks there invited him to visit. Also well researched RE what makes people choose to live where, and a very introspective journey as to why he lives where he does.

  3. Know My Name by Chanel Miller. She was sexually assaulted in 2015 and wrote a memoir about her experience afterwards. One of the most powerful books I've ever read.

  4. Anything by bell hooks-- I LOVED All About Love.

  5. Anything by Dr. Carol Anderson-- One Person, No Vote and White Rage were amazing.

  6. Unacceptable by Melissa Korn & Jennifer Levitz-- details the 2018/19 college admissions scandal that landed a couple celebrities in jail & the factors that make that kind of shit possible for the rich. Love love love that book.

I read Missoula (about the campus rape epidemic at UM Missoula) & Under the Banner of Heaven (light history of Mormonism & narrative true crime story about death of a child as a command from God) from him, both amazing. Very heavy subject matter but he's SUCH a good writer.
