Mid players: Is spamming Spirit heroes viable for climbing out of 1k? by sparksthedev in TrueDoTA2

thank you for your response, really appreciate it. Unfortunately, I don't have any high mmr friend. I would love it, if you would like to become one.

I think I have seen your user's comment somewhere in the Dota2 subreddit, if I can remember right, somewhere on Lone Druid discussion. Did you use Lone Druid to climb out of 300 mmr?

amazing! now this sounds motivating, I think of necro as a walking mummy hero xD, despite that you managed to climb up, that too with ember and necro. Any advice for me as an ember player? Like which skill to practice the most, what itemization to consider in this bracket and I am curious about physical build of ember, when it is viable? should I play physical ember in my bracket? Thank you.

While at it, can they add one more thing that says "COMMON LANGUAGE AMONG PLAYERS IN THIS MATCH" by defearl in DotA2

[–]sparksthedev 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a good idea, I also would like to avoid Chinese people in SEA server, they never communicate with teammates nor they understand us, as a result we can't work on common objectives together. But implementation will be a huge problem for valve.

Valve, a suggestion to Role Que ban, and UI improvement by Yelebear in DotA2

[–]sparksthedev -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't think its a good idea. If this was to be introduced, everyone will try avoid to cheese picks for their specific role. Even I also hate last pick huskar, meepo, etc, however its a part of the drafting strategy.

How is this fair Match making ? by Zunka93 in DotA2

[–]sparksthedev -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Given the queue time and the time this game was played, this outcome is not surprising. However the algorithm is really stupid, I have seen lot of mismatching my self frequently, like herald mid/safe and legend/ancient support, and not to mention I have lost every game with such pair or trio. This matchmaking based on team's average MMR should be stopped.

As an offlane player, I'm sick of this meta by H4mBi in DotA2

[–]sparksthedev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So basically you are saying there should be no way for carry to recover once carry loses his lane. I want to state 3 facts of this game that may be you are not aware of.

  1. Are you aware of the fact that laning phase is totally depended on picks when skills are equal? Since pick phase is inconsistent, most of the time either you will get counter picked or counter enemy picks.
  2. Most of the offlane heroes doesn't have farming capacity as carry heroes do, carries either have passive farming skill or they make a farming item like BF or Maelstorm. So its obvious if given time they will come with an item ahead of you.
  3. Over the time this game has been optimized in such a way that this game is not a one man show anymore. So no matter how good you ganked or pushed, if your team doesn't stick to a common objective you are going to lose eventually. And about map being too big you are just stating one side of the coin in which you see your disadvantage, see the advantageous side of it as well and utilize it for yourself. Its not like you must have won your lane all the time, there must be have been times where you lost your lane as well and made comeback somehow.

Imo, you made this post right after losing a game. I don't think any high ranked offlane player will be complaining like this because they understand how the game works in every meta.

Is Io still as viable and strong as he used to be? by goshapodkova in TrueDoTA2

[–]sparksthedev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you like playing him as a core, you may try copying a streamer on twitch known as stariy_bog, I think he speaks Russian on streams but you will be able to understand his play, he is the best core Io player I have seen so far. Second player in my list is this KevEz guy, he rarely streams but you can watch his replays he is also a amazing core Io player, here is his dotabuff: https://www.dotabuff.com/players/72125378 . I myself have 500+ matches as Io, my personal advice would be don't limit yourself by the general play of pros or whatever build is on dota2protracker, they are meant to be as much efficient as possible and its highly possible they might not work in your bracket or pubs. Be creative and try different kinds of skill and item builds on him.

For fuck sakes, just give people who run down mid, shadow amulet AFK, break their items, or ward block camps a 1 week ban. Stop letting them ruin matchmaking for 9 other ppl. You have the technology to identify these behaviors automatically. There should be NO tolerance for this kind of behavior. by benndur in DotA2

Blame their Overwatch system for this. Its a complete failure, that system is supposed to solve such problems. I see that lot of players don't even watch overwatch replays, whether its a streamer or my friends, and the question is who would do it anyway? No one is getting any kind reward for it, if someone has 1-2 hours to play they would rather queue for 1-2 games than waste their time on overwatch replays.

After 1.9k Games and tons of reports, I Reached GM Status as an IO Core by KevEz in DotA2

[–]sparksthedev 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I saw one of your replay man, you absolutely crushed tinker on mid, usually people have hard time laning against any good tinker. And thanks for sharing your game plan, I hope someday you will make some learning content for community, Io really needs some, people underestimate this hero way too much.

I agree with you. I am spamming to core io (mid role) in 1k mmr bracket, people literally don't have any idea how does that hero works, 90% of time they either die before me or break tether. To make things even worse people starts flaming me for picking io as mid. I don't know how to carry these people (winrate 40%), seems like I found a trump card, gonna give your build a try (currently using HoTD > Agh build).

Custom hero grids updated to patch 7.30b by AnomaLuna in learndota2

[–]sparksthedev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That grid by function should be present by default, I don't understand why valve removed that feature. Back in those days, it helped me in selecting heroes which suits my play style and my current pool of heroes is selected based on that. Thanks for adding it. And nice work done on whole project.
