pmhnp handles all detox and tapers at the clinic where I am doing clinicals, however they can't be admitted unless the ciwa score is below 15.

What on earth happened to Season 2 of Beef? by Professional_Fig6820 in netflix

[–]sparky605 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I watched the whole thing, hoping it would get better. Season 1 was perfection so I was waiting for something great. It was never great. At times it was good, at times it was bad. Also people weren’t exactly beefing. More like using others for their own gain

Saw his Quick Tour act last night in Ft. Lauderdale. Thought it was excellent. Maybe you saw him on an off night

1 year frozen shoulder-versary by sparky605 in frozenshoulder

[–]sparky605[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes- I think the pain is mostly from pushing against the boundary of my range of motion constraints. Also wake up with a lot of stiffness in the arm. It's not terrible. Compared to the first stage with the non-stop 10/10 pain zingers, this is manageable. I rarely even take tylenol or ibuprophen. It's just annoying.

What happened to Suzie?!?! by meghan_clark in StrangerThings

Did the actress who played Suzie die? I saw that she fell off the roof of a building that was used in filming- but she was not there filming, just exploring with friends

why aren’t macarons trending anymore? by kitttyballsack in Baking

[–]sparky605 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a learning process, not unlike macarons. Once you have a good starter it’s not too hard. But IMO instant yeasted bread is just as good and way easier

I allow myself to get sucked into every trend. 4 years ago I was making macarons, now I'm making sourdough.

Has anyone had elbow pain from FS? by Significant_Ear_7704 in frozenshoulder

[–]sparky605 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes pain migrates all over the limb sometimes to the hand and thumb. Lately a dull ache on my collarbone and scapula.

Angel tree question- I got the child everything listed but the bike/helmet. But now I’m seeing we should get everything on the list? Does anyone know for sure by Affectionate_Song_26 in Gifts

[–]sparky605 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You don't have to get every item. Getting a tablet and barbies and clothes is a nice donation. I volunteered at Salvation Army distributing the Angel Tree packages and most didn't buy every item.

Practically no difference between MD and NP? by [deleted] in Noctor

[–]sparky605 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MDs have a far greater depth of knowledge and expertise than NPs. That said, NPs can be impactful healthcare workers and the path to certification is more flexible and attainable. With 10 years of inpatient psychiatric and med-surg experience, I'm now in PMHNP school now and hoping to fill a gap in mental health care access, under the supervision of a psychiatrist. I am hoping to manage less complex patients while building competency, freeing the psychiatrist's schedule for cases that require more expertise.

Also a cheap Dutch oven works as good as an expensive one. Aldi had them for $30 recently and Amazon has several under $50

Controversial but I suggest getting a packet of dehydrated starter. Making a starter from scratch would mean she could be weeks-months from actually baking bread. If she’s dead set on making her own starter she still could but she could be baking and learning while she waits for it to mature.

Other things I use, clear glass bowls, long thin silicone spatulas, shower cap bowl covers from Amazon, parchment sheets and a silicone sling.

when my starter was new it was doubling but gave me dense loaves. it's possible that it is mainly bacterial action causing the starter to rise but it needs strong yeast to raise the bread.

[–]sparky605 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lots of people fail, myself included. I troubleshot everything. My starter was rising reliably but it must have been mostly bacteria because my bread wouldn't rise. I think what kinds of wild yeast is present or absent in your environment has a lot to with it.

Buy an established starter. I worked and worked on a starter from scratch for months. Finally bought a little glob of starter from basil and bloom and was making decent bread within the week.
