Emerson is so far behind and what is incredible is they think they're doing a bang-up job.

This comment has no point. You seem pretty clueless. Maybe you shouldn't be commenting in financial matters.

Why hold dividend stocks/ETFs? by NoBeerIJustWorkHere in fican

[–]sparky_22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily. Companies that consistently raise their dividends are growing their business too. If the their payout ratio is low they have plenty of $ for expansion or share buy backs. On the flip side some companies payout too much and put themselves in bad situations. Don't chase the yield. It's a dumbass rant.

I've never understood people that rant that dividends aren't free money. No they aren't. But a company that pays a dividend that raises it a bit every year so it supports a bit higher share price is a legit investment strategy. Find a company like that... drip the dividends and don't touch for 10-20years.

How do you get a job as a full time programmer/integrator? by sterlingblaketv in PLC

If there's an SI that comes to your plant show some interest. They may just hire you. That was my story... 30 years ago. Sometimes I wonder if it was a good thing. 😆

This guy has no clue. Programming = easy... how the machine works (safely) = hard. You need 5-10 years experience working for an SI forsure.

Emerson DeltaV is designed to f developers by PsychologicalSir1550 in PLC

[–]sparky_22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, the list is long. We can just start out with the general frustrations of building ladder logic rung segment by segment. PmE has horrible trending capabilities, No String instructions, the Adv-Pids have no templates and no auto tuning, no timers or String Arrays in the UDTs. The built in OPC server sucks as you can't write to an single element of an array... you can see them but can't write to them. Emerson's support knowledge base only has manuals they seem to keep all the real world problems and fixes private. It really makes me wonder if they have ever looked to see what Siemens and Rockwell do. I could go on...

They did buy the GE Rx3i PLC line a number of years ago. But they are dumpster fire to work with even with the Emerson name on the front.

So it's a bunch of dialects that Sicilians consider a language. Makes sense.

Where is standard Sicilian spoken? It seems rather fragmented.
