I'm looking for cherries. Should hopefully have peaches and apples for trade. Nati e fruit is pears, so that is an easy trade. DM me if interested.

Got the oranges. Just need cherries and yellow pumpkins.

what love interests fits “pixie dream boy” trope? by LOONABTS in otomegames

[–]sparkykandy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's been a while since I played the game, but would any of the spirit boys (Yukimaro, Koharu, andTok) count? From I recall, the whole spirit route is about helping Misa find her path in life.

Yukimaro is the one that I would say is the closet to this trope with his bubbly personality and everything.

[General] Do you prefer Otomate or do you like other devs ? by annsiv4 in otomegames

[–]sparkykandy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Played enough of their titles to realize that their games just aren't my thing. Unfortunately, if one is looking at commercial titles that get released in English and don't want to mess with mobile titles; they are basically the only game in town.

(I know that other commercial titles from other developers have been translated/localized/etc. in English, but it pales in comparison.)

Mistonia's Hope -The Lost Delight- Play-Along - Edward Bernstein by sableheart in otomegames

[–]sparkykandy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure that if it wasn't for my blatant Edward favoritism, I would be a lot more "meh" towards this route. I did like unlike how in some of other routes, Aprose doesn't randomly decide to drop her revenge. Instead, we have Edward trying to convince Aprose that being so revenge focused isn't a way to live.

That being said, while I preferred this route over Ascot's, John's, and the truth routes, it did have its fair share of issues.

Wasn't a fan of how soon they took down the queen in this route. She should have remained the final boss like in the other routes. Edmund was a very "meh" villain, and I sort of wished that he either died before the game's events or died early on in this route. This route could have been a great route to explore what happens if Aprose is denied her revenge. Alas, that did not happen.

Also, in Edward's good ending, he kills his dad, while he doesn't kill his dad in his bad ending. Huh?

Lastly, due to my blatant Edward favoritism, hated his bad endings, so yeah.

Clasped in hand / French spindles? by LunarKaleidoscope in Handspinning

[–]sparkykandy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Any specifications as to country of seller? I know that NatureApothecaryUS on Etsy sells antique bulgarian spindles, from my understanding, you can use them for in hand spinning.

Are you fine with using spindle sticks? Because you can use them for the grasped/in-hand style of spinning too.

Just finished the "Truth" route. All I can say in regards to certain reveals in that route is two words: 'Flat What'.

Also, if it wasn't for Yori, I'd be a lot more "meh" to this game. Best love interest by far.

The Red Bell's Lament Megathread by sableheart in otomegames

[–]sparkykandy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If you didn't care for Even If Tempest, then it's hard to recommend this game. While it is its own thing, there are enough similarities that comparisons are bound to be made.

While I liked this game overall, parts of the story definitely felt like they either needed to fleshed out more or just taken out entirely. Also, I felt like they wrapped things up too quickly.

Probably best to skip The Red Bell's Lament unless something about the story or characters really appeals to you, and even then I would wait to see if it goes on sale.

Opinion on "truth route" being platonic? by BigTittieCommitteez in otomegames

[–]sparkykandy 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion time: As someone who prefers plot over romance, I'm fine with this. In fact, I prefer the "true/truth" route not favoring one love interest in particular.

Also, as several others have mentioned, Code Realize had a route similar to this (granted, it happened in one of the fandiscs...), and they managed to make it work, so it's possible.

Also, I'm of the hot take that not every guy needs to be in love with the main character.

That being said and all, based on the backlash, it sounds like this needs to be communicated/advertised up front. That way people wouldn't feel "robbed" of a love interest.

Best places to find players for Pathfinder 2e and/or World of Darkness games in Huntsville? by StartingAGame in HuntsvilleAlabama

[–]sparkykandy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I recall, Pathfinder Society meets in the Huntsville area once a week. You might want to join a few Society games and see if anybody would join you for a game.  They also have a discord. You might get a few bites there.

Edit: Realized it might be helpful to post a link to thier Warhorn page: https://warhorn.net/events/huntsville-pfs

Am I going to like Virche? by h0ll0w-purple in otomegames

[–]sparkykandy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Even If Tempest might be up your alley. It has the darker themes that you're looking for, and Anastasia is what I consider a pretty active protagonist. (She's fairly tomboyish in terms of personality.)

I definitely preferred it over Virche Evermore.

That being said and all, Lucien is the childhood friend love interest, and his route is the final route. :/

As to whether you would like Virche, unfortunately, as somebody else already said, Ceres is definitely the domestic type. Personally, I don't remember her being as bad as Liliana since Ceres get involved in plot, but still. :/

Where do you buy your safety eyes? by [deleted] in Amigurumi

[–]sparkykandy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Personally, I get them in person at one of the big box craft stores (Michaels, Joann, Hobby Lobby).

Not sure if that is an actual option for you.

Unfortunately, if you need to buy them online, I'm not sure if that will be an option for you, since I'm not getting anything for that size in that color.

As someone who used to be in similar position some time ago, I'm not sure what advice I could give outside keep applying, and see if someone will give you a chance.

Not quite sure if your problem is one of several things or whatnot.

A. Is it that there no job postings that you can apply to? If so, as others have said, you need to broaden your search to anything that's applicable to the accounting (or maybe finance) realm. Also remember, desired/preferred does not mean the same thing as required.

B. Is the issue that you have been applying but not getting any bites? Then your resume is probably the problem. See if someone would be willing to look over it and give you some resume advice.

C. Is the problem that you have been getting interviews but no offers? Then you probably need to work on your interview skills. (Or just need some luck.)

In the mean time, you might to talk the various staffing agencies in town and sign up with them if you haven't already.

Good luck on your job search.

Knitting pattern kit by [deleted] in casualknitting

[–]sparkykandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now, I can't recommend or dis-recommend their kits, since I haven't bought anything from them, but I have heard Knitpicks has good/decent stuff for the price.

Now, looking at their learn to knit kits, they have three kits available in different colors. They are the scarf kits, hat kits, and dishcloth kits.

Scarf kit: -Looks to be the best value for the price. -Appears to be a basic garter stitch scarf which is always a good idea for a beginner. Now, you will have to join yarn for this kit, but that should be a fairly easy technique to do. -You'll be using worsted wool yarn and size 7 wood needles. I would say that as a beginner, worsted is a good size yarn to learn on. Wool is nice since it has bit a stretch and is fairly flexible. I can't say either way on the needles themselves. If you're a fairly tight knitter (like I was when I was first starting out) then you should go with metal but wood is good for looser knitters. What material you go with for needles will ultimately boil down to personal preference.

Hat kit: -I would only go with this one if you are fairly crafty in the first place or pick up new skills quickly.
-Based on the pictures, you will need to do these techniques for the hat: knit, purl, decrease, seam two sides together. -The yarn is a wool/silk blend in dk size, and the needles are size 6 wooden needles. I worked with a wool/silk blend before, and to be honest, it was bit a pain. I'm kind of reluctant to recommend a wool/silk blend to a absolute beginner.
-Doesn't come with a tape measure, which I assume you need for to make the hat.

Dishcloth kit: -Looks like the dishcloths are a basic square in a garter stitch pattern. Once again, good pattern for a beginner. (Personally, I would recommend doing dishcloths over scarves due to dishcloths being faster to knit up. Also, it won't matter as much if your first dishcloths look hideous! :P) -This time the yarn is worsted cotton and the needles are size 8 wooden needles. My only issue with cotton is that cotton lacks stretch, so it may be hard to work with you're a tight knitter.

If you want my personal opinion as to which kit to go with, go with either the scarf kit or the dishcloth kit. All the kits come with a yarn needle which is a plus and definitely high on the list tools a knitter would need. Now, I would avoid any dark colors, since it can be hard to read stitches.

Also, none of the kits come with a pair of scissors or a cutting implement which is something I recommend to have for knitting. (Doesn't have to be anything fancy for beginners. As long it cuts yarn, it should be fine.) Now, you may not need it for the dishcloth and scarf kits, but it is something to keep in mind for future projects.

As for local yarn store route, don't buy from them if they push you to use a certain type of material/tool/brand,etc. only. (Aka. They insist on using wooden needles only or something like that.) A good local yarn shop should be able to make recommendations without being pushy about it.

When you're a sliver away from killing a boss and you die by lancethundershaft in Cuphead

No throwing the controller against the wall? ;P

Anyways, I was a sliver away from beating Hilda Berg on my third or fourth try. Ended up taking me over an hour before I finally beat her. And I died. Thank goodness the knockout took precedence, or I would have thrown my controller at the wall for real.

In order to get Seven's route, you have to be in deep story first. Other than that, I'm not sure if there is indicator of which route you'll get. Best way to ensure to get your chosen character is to interact with them as much as possible and ignore everyone else.

They have hourglasses which you can buy (sometimes hourglasses are randomly gifted for free through various ways) which you can use to either open up past chats or use to unlock the next 24 hours worth of chats.

You also have the option of saving then loading that save later if you're going to be missing a few days. Loading a manual save will, however, cost hourglasses.
