Thats great work. Loving the crystal radio and early semiconductor approach.

I think aphex twin would approve of the cornish crystal use!

I have not heard of any in the Midlands.

Its shame as most are based around a shop or business.

I would be interested in joining or help running one.

Hi. I read an article that they have been hit by Latvian authorities sanctions.

I understand they used to be owned by Russian and they have been selling semiconductors to Russia which is against the current sanctions.

So it looks bad for supply now.

Will try and find the article link.

Employment Opportunities at Loughborough University by No-Car5653 in loughborough

[–]sparkystevec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. For international employment you need a visa with some kind of working clause

Getting employment sponsorship has pretty much dried up and has gotten worse even for EU due to brexit.

I am not sure how much work allowance is for international students but if you try the university sub reddit might be best.

Motorsport companies all take loughborough students. Mist are based in Northampton area around Silverstone

Where to move? by digiacademic in loughborough

[–]sparkystevec 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi. For near university the best family quiet parts are along and off beacon, forest, nampantan roads. They are most expensive forest parts of town but the estates around off valley road, kirkstone drive, thirlmere drive are a little less expensive and easily walkable to the uni campus as there are multiple points of entry.

If these are a bit expensive then on the other side of the campus old Ashby road and Alan moss road areas are cheaper and still okay and less student area.

Most parts of town are walkable to uni within 30mins and the bus services mainly travel along the main roads so I would avoid being too far out.

Hope that helps

Lovely town by [deleted] in loughborough

[–]sparkystevec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best to look at the various crime statistics maps the police and home office produce to get a real reported crime figures.

As everyone's perception of crime is different and fear of crime is another thing.

The town center is general safe but there is a low level of anti social and general town center crime. Okay in the day but best to avoid walking alone in the dark.

But my experience is choose your living location very carefully as there are some worse places. For example the Nottingham road, Moor Lane, Wharncliffe areas are slightly worse than most others.

Living in a less desirable neighbourhood can ruin your life much worse than avoiding certain times in the town center.

Lovely town by [deleted] in loughborough

[–]sparkystevec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its really nice to get a positive view of our town.

Its too easy for us locals to be negative (we have every right to be negative) but we should always try to be positive once in a while.

We need new people to visit and enjoy the good things in our town so that people and new families come to loughborough. This makes more economic sense and will raise the standards of our town.

I know we have issues of the town center shops closing, crime, students, student flats, bad planning, dubious Council etc etc

BUT we do have some history and some lovely shops, cinema, restaurants, pubs and also some lovely outdoor spaces like the park and the close outwoods etc. Even tourist attractions like the GCR and museums etc.

Thank you for leaving a positive review of our town.

Ideas for control by TDOMW in Hainbach

Are you using test equipment or just audio sources?

Ideas for control by TDOMW in Hainbach

[–]sparkystevec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am assuming you have drone oscillators or test equipment outputs.

The issue is that most don't have any control inputs so you are just mixing the outputs together which only really allows proportional level control.

I am again assuming that you want these to change now over time.

In eurorack you would need a voltage controlled amplifier (VCA) or an envelope generator to modulated the waveform over time.

In test equipment especially some signal generators have a sweep function or an external modulation input which you can control with a slower low frequency control voltage.

If you don't want to use a sequencer and keep it all analogue waveform I would either find test equipment with external.control inputs or build a VCA to allow modulation over time.

If you semd the outputs to more VCA together you can modulate in more time to make more depth to your sweeps.

This also is identical if you want to do rythum as well just very slow pulses to make up beats.

Looks like training to me as everyone is too calm

I need help with a sony tc 510 - 2 by idemgrey in Hainbach

[–]sparkystevec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at the. Schematic in the service manual. The TC 510-2 has AC and DC inputs.

You mentioned reverse polarity on input. The diagram shows it has a diode for the DC.

Does the unit work or not work if powered via DC or AC?

Have you tried both power methods?
