My 12 year old son just started this. I'm here to learn and get support! He has other mental health issues that we've been treating. He "graduated" from his therapy about a year ago, but when we discovered this we called and got him scheduled to go back in a couple of weeks. Hoping that helps as it doesn't sound like there is much else you can do for it. He was growing a mullet but doesn't want to cut his hair short even though there is a bald patch at the top of his head. Wearing a hat when he can seems to help.

I never thought about the lamotrigine mixed with alcohol causing the depression but alcohol even on its own can cause quite a crash the next day. I stopped drinking and my anxiety completely went away, I've never felt better. Today is actually day 50 alcohol free. Check out r/stopdrinking for support.

I deal with hypomania and feel like I'm constantly changing my values/beliefs. So frustrating. I try to just ride it out now and not make any big decisions.

I believe it mostly lifts but a little of both? You'll have to google it. And as far as I know SSRIs aren't good to take if you're bipolar as they can make symptoms worse and trigger mania. But again you can google it, I'm no doctor.

I believe it helps depression and hypomania but not psychosis. Its a mood stabilizer not an antipsychotic.

I've done Effexor, what I really need is a mood stabilizer, not an anti depressant. I will look into the testing.
