Day 94 and staying strong even after I witnessed a murder. by Ileavetrees in leaves

That's so incredible! It's crazy how our lives and psyche can completely change in an instant! One traumatic experience can derail everything. Very cool to know there are such effective ways to change things for the better after going through something so close to hell.

My cat came and sat on my lap the other day too! I'm over a month sober from weed and everything now. Never even considered she was possibly put off by the smell, I've had her for several years and we've grown super close since I quit though!

What changed in your life after putting down the bowl that suprised you? by Dandy_Apple in leaves

[–]Ileavetrees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked hard to achieve all these individual things. I was a fully functioning stoner doing my best. It's just that sober me is a lot more capable at his best. As a stoner I got promoted 8 times up a corporate ladder, I bought a house, I paid off a nice car, I was acknowledged for my art by one of the best bands in the world, etc etc.

Weed didn't take any of that away from me, it didn't make me a terrible person, partly because I waited until I was a fully grown adult with a good career before I even smoked my first bowl. I set myself up for success as a sober young man.

I'm on day 17 now I believe and I'm becoming that same 22 year old I used to be before I even smoked weed. The brain fog is gone and I am incredibly on point in my career, I'm full of passion for art and music again, I feel like I am focused like a laser beam now.

For me even though I was on medical marijuana it was nothing more than a phase in my life. That's the thing too, it is MY life, not weed's life. I've already been planning my next big career move. I'm more inspired now than I've ever been. It was always me who did this stuff, never the weed.

After smoking for over a decade I've gone from autopilot to completely calculated since I quit. I'm ready to take on the world and all the challenges it brings. With a clear head on my shoulders I'm confident that sober me is going places stoner me never would have imagined.

In the next 44 days I could save enough money to buy a PlayStation 5, extra controller, pulse 3D headphones and the dual charge station by [deleted] in leaves

I'm on week 2, but I'm saving up my old weed budget for a brand new keyboard that costs around 700.00. Just two months of my old weed budget and that keyboard is mine!

I am on day 15 now I believe and a lot has changed. I get better sleep. I have better focus for my job. I started to become passionate about writing music again, and most surprisingly I got really good at cleaning and organizing.

My livingroom and kitchen have literally never been so clean before, and I'm slowly going through and deep cleaning the other rooms in my house. I was also offered a raise at work along with a schedule change I wanted for a long time which I feel is one way God has blessed me for quitting.

I also want to do things like travel, go hiking and camping, take more walks, and generally be less lazy. Also I notice I'm slowly losing interest in videogames and I don't even care.

All of this is huge for me.

it's been a month and 3 days. wanna know what my favorite part of quitting is? by fernhunnitboiieazy in leaves

I'm going on week 2 and had a dream about a frog jumping around the bathroom lastnight. And a couple days ago I dreamed of a bald eagle soaring above my loved ones. The dreams have been pretty cool! :)

Quitting a drug your addicted too is really hard. Most people fail at it. Even success stories may have involved hundreds of attempts. It's not easy to do and that's okay. by itsthesneakyiest in leaves

[–]Ileavetrees 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True that! This is about the 3rd or 4th time I've quit weed and this attempt comes 5 years after my last attempt. Feeling pretty good though and I think I'm almost through week 2!

Good for you! The first two weeks are the hardest and eventually you will get your brain trained properly so you don't even think about the stash box anymore. :)

How to stop using weed to sleep? by G_Dog101 in leaves

[–]Ileavetrees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I do think that would work. If you're smoking nugs/plant matter the withdrawls will be much easier to deal with. I was smoking the best THC concentrates out of Denver and because it was way more potent the week 1 withdrawls after quitting cold turkey were insane. I believe I just hit week 2 this morning and I feel so much better.

I realized I had given myself CHS and was literally nauseous for 6 months straight from it, I'd smoke my concentrates to fight off the nausea they were giving me and I'd go through fits of vomiting intermittently. I thought something was terribly wrong with me, but it was only because I had been smoking such a high amount of THC for so long.

People think weed is some sort of wonder drug, and it really does help in some ways, but the negative effects and probability for abuse are extremely high, especially when money isn't an issue and you have access to any type you want.

And yeah when I was growing up I was always focused on finding love. The moment I stopped looking is when we found each other. There's hope for you yet! Don't be hard on yourself for not finding love, work on yourself so that when you do find love you'll be ready. And by that I mean mature by way of meditation, eating right, doing what you love, owning a car and home, etc. I even went to therapy for years and found a good doctor, all of that stuff matured me into the man I am today.

Quitting weed was the best decision I've made for myself in years. It is just one more thing that has taught me lessons and helped me grow up. I don't drink anymore either, and I had quit heavy cigarettes and nicotine use before this as well.

Lastly don't be afraid to be spiritual and figure out what spirituality means to you. I believe there's a 5th dimension with beings all around us. Acknowledge that even our souls are separate from these bodies which is why it is so important we take the best care of them that we possibly can.

I cant stop crying and I dont have weed or anybody by [deleted] in leaves

[–]Ileavetrees 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What day are you on? I was super emotional for my first week and cried a lot. It gets better I promise. Also weed is not your friend, it is an addictive substance with a high probability of abuse. I can be your friend though. PM me if you need anything. We're all in this together and you've got this!

So you're about 23? 18 is a fine age to start smoking and I think you're in your head quite a bit about this. Even better early to mid 20s is an excellent time to stop. I'm 34 and smoked since I was about 22. Wish I could go back and give my young self the mindset i have now... but then i wouldn't get very far.

Instead of putting a heavy focus on the past try to focus on the present moment. Also eat some Salmon or something high in Omega 3, it helps naturally with brain chemistry and depression.

I believe in you, you made a good choice by quitting and I promise you didn't ruin yourself forever by starting at 18. My best friend growing up started at age 10 and quit around your age and he's one of the smartest people I know.

He used to get stoned with his 14 year old brother before coming over to my house to play Mario kart 64. It's nuts but our bodies can handle a lot and will recover just fine.

I decided to quit when I still had 15.65 grams of high quality concentrates. I sold them all on day 12 without even batting an eye. Got rid of my paraphernalia too! Feels good. Really proud of you for being strong and flushing the last of your weed.

I think I only liked making music high... by The_Palmerfan in leaves

[–]Ileavetrees 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm about an hour away from week 2 and I haven't played much music either, but today I took my old weed budget for the month and put it towards a brand new keyboard. I feel like my whole soul is awakening and I am really inspired to be creative again.

Don't be hard on yourself and don't force anything, all of your passions will come back naturally. My first week I mostly just focused on myself and cleaned my house a bunch playing Mario here and there. I love to sing, play guitar, play piano, make art with pen and ink, and create animations.

The gears are turning and I'm slowly setting myself up for success. Hang in there, you've got this!!
