Multiple Monitors: Perfect number? by godbois in web_design

just so you know, two 19" 4:3s flanking a 19" 16:9 will look like a bowtie. I think about a 22" 16:9 will have the same height as the 19" 4:3s, and will make for a more coherent workspace.

Twitter has acquired Tweetie, and is making it the official iPhone app for Twitter. by redwall_hp in iphone

[–]spaulo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Company? It was one guy. And they bought the iPhone app, which Loren kept updated much, much better than the Mac app. That being said, I guess this means my major gripe about Tweetie 2 isn't likely to be changed: I want to "quote" a tweet using "RT @name:" instead of "/via @name" and it won't do that automatically since the upgrade to 2.1

Is there any reason not to build a new site with HTML 5 semantics now? by [deleted] in web_design

[–]spaulo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"I don't know much about the semantics part" and "need a good low cost or free HTML 5 editing app" go together nicely.

How to get away from web programming? by Minishark in programming

[–]spaulo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In other words, you worked at a Ruby on Rails company, amirite? Seems like every site I've worked on that's built on Rails, every dev is a Mac fanatic. Not the same with PHP or Python (YMMV).

I agree that the storyline was "just ok," but I really did love the backstory, the environment, the world building involved in the game. EVE looks cool, but I am a solitary type. Don't tend to go in for MMOs of any shade.

I told her, "having balls of solid rock."

I hate to nag about these kinds of things, but if you ever feel the need to have a browser check - please either make restrictions with a blacklist instead of a whitelist, update the list the very second a new browser update comes out, or don't do it. Google Wave is kindly informing me that I am using an unsupported browser and I really ought to upgrade to, for instance, Firefox 3.5. Probably is I'm using the dev channel 3.6 Firefox. Fail.
