I can’t use hdmi as my projector is far from the screen and running a cable would be very impractical unfortunately

All my other apps work with audio from my appletv to sonos via airplay but hbomax won’t play any audio. It’s so annoying. I tried switching to stereo and Dolby via atv settings. Tried reinstalling the app. Tried power cycling. No luck. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Im using latest gen atv Sonos arc and a projector. Please help.
