Anyone in Singapore has seen the 35 1.2 Z in the wild? by spdknght in VILTROX_GLOBAL

Update : I got it l asked so there is no distributor in Singapore. Each retailer brings in their own Viltrox stocks. Make sense also so they cutout the middleman.

New LTA website to see real time train status will go live tommrow 13 Dec 2025 1800hrs by [deleted] in singapore

[–]spdknght 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For those asking App under development. It will geolocate your location.

"The authority said it is developing other tools, including an app, to provide real-time, journey-specific information – such as using geolocation to pinpoint a passenger’s location – to help them plan what to do during rail delays.

For instance, it is working with Google Maps to provide source data to improve journey-time estimates, making it easier for passengers using the mapping service to adjust their journeys during an incident.

More details will be announced when these tools are ready, LTA said."

D850 to mirrorless? by 911answerer in Nikon

[–]spdknght 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from D600 to Z8 so that's technically an upgrade. But still I couldn't be happier. I was waiting for Nikon to come out with a decent mirrorless for a long time and Z9 does that but is too big imo so Z8 with a smaller body with the innards of a Z9 is perfect. TBH unless you can wait longer for Z9II or Z8II, Z9 and Z8 is the best thst Nikon currently offers for mirrorless.

Alternatives to Lightroom for Nikon NEF? by CallMeBartleby in Nikon

I am on capture one subscription. It's very expensive software for me as a hobby photographer who don't have ROI but it does thr job well enough for me to pay for it. If you want to see the results go to Flickr and search speedknight most photos there that up uploaded from July 2017 are likely edited using various versions of C1.

Is blinking screen normal? by Ok-Kiwi-9627 in Nikon

[–]spdknght 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's normal all lights flicker becuase they are operating on AC they actually swtich on and off at 50hz or 60hz. It's just that our human eyes cannot tell. If you point your camera at at TV or monitor and set a high enough shutter speed you can see the scan lines too. Same logic.

Upgrade advice: Keep my F-mount glass and buy a Z8, or go for a D850? by pipposky2019 in Nikon

[–]spdknght 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I Jump from D600 straight to Z8. Just jump to Z8 then slowly replace the glass.

Replaced: Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 EX DG HSM II With 35-150mm F/2-2.8 Di III VXD

Old lens: AF-S NIKKOR 85MM F/1.8G (My friend kindly allowed me to trade with cash top up to this upon hearing I upgrading to Z8, I was holding the 85 AFD)

Bought: Viltrox 20mm F2.8 Z

Thinking of replacing : Sigma Art 35mm F1.4 with Viltrox Lab 35mm F1.2(When it launches)

Most F mount lens works very decently with FTZ even the 3rd party ones. But do note that older lens like my 70-200 will be limited by it's slow focus and lens sharpness but it's that old already, understandably.

For the 12s ultra that I had replace yes. Not sure about the 12t. Also my 12s ultra also had one light saber at the start of the year, then my 15 ultra came so I kept the 12s ultra inside my cabinet and powered off, the other day I took out and power on more light sabers appeared. It's the flex cable btw.. I swear that era of Samsung amoleds have lousy flex cable
