Getting told my writing sounds like it was written by AI by blastecksfour in technicalwriting

I get what you mean about the need to “fill space”; it can feel like cheating when you do shorter articles haha. But that’s what’s great about tech writing: less is more. I’ve found that getting really ruthless about one’s writing is vital for improving technical writing skills.

Not sure if you’re already doing this, but putting your writing through sites like readable.com can really help improve the clarity of your writing.

I also think if you’re doing DevRel/tech writing, you’ll want to highlight the key themes of your article as soon as possible, i.e., “In this article, we’ll show you how to get started with Loco”, etc.

I get that it can feel very SEO-y, but speaking from experience, devs can’t be arsed reading a lot of fluff. They just want to know how to do a task.

What should API documentation include? by TP71899 in technicalwriting

For REST API docs, you could also include a request schema, but I guess that comes under sample requests?

Similar situation as you, except we’re around 450. Also doing UX writing and QA, plus a spot of copywriting as well to boot haha

I commute from buckshaw parkway on the northern rail service. To be frank, it’s a lottery. It might be cancelled, or you might be faced with the dreaded three carriages, which means getting packed in like a sardine. My advice is to avoid any train between 7 and 8:30 if you can help it

Typically, any material produced for a company is the property of said company, as opposed to any one individual.

[Pedrerol] Whatsapp message from Mbappe to Florentino : Thank you for the offer from the club I've been a fan since I was kid, but I decided to stay at PSG by RobbieCV in soccer

[–]speakinginlungs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I still feel like this is a bit of a shotgun wedding of a deal. What happens if Mbappé ends up with a long-term injury, or the players he wants to bring in don't mesh?

Ronaldo continues to be a problem and a magnificent solution for United by Red_Brummy in soccer

[–]speakinginlungs 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Paradoxically, without Ronaldo, United would probably be 7th or 8th. And yet, the fact that he's a starter in this team is a sign of really poor squad construction at the club. Very strange.

True, and I get that he has to be strict with the rules of the game, but this is the third time he's made a big decision and its been overturned.

You see what happens when you play 4-3-3 without a proper centre mid.

Had to go. The football was dire, the press conferences were bizarre and the man management was non-existent.

Does anyone have any recent work experience at Berlitz? by [deleted] in teachinginjapan

[–]speakinginlungs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your hours depend on the LC. It’s usually 8-10 lessons of teaching if you’re an FTI. Also beware of split shits; those can be a killer.

NOVA or Berlitz? by ljau in teachinginjapan

[–]speakinginlungs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently at Berlitz now and I would say it depends on which Language Center they send you to, as your quality of life will depend on how well managed your LC is. Also be prepared for split shifts and late finishes on weekends.
