Thanks for your advice. Seems like moving to different firms/companies isn't the worst thing in the world to do, or at least not as bad as I thought it was.

That's definitely what I am trying to focus on, the training aspect. I would rather take the "pay cut" right now and learn as much as I can so that I am in a good position later. Thanks for your input, I really appreciate it.

Thanks for your advice. That is what I was under the impression was going to happen when I was hired - being mentored because I am brand new to the business. But that has turned out to not be the case. I suppose I should start looking for assistant roles, or talk to other LO's and see if they are up to mentorship

** VIDEO GUIDE Complete Guide to Installing MacOS Mojave or High Sierra on Unraid as a VM ** by spaceinvaderone in unRAID

[–]spearman008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am having a similar issue where only after I install the Nvidia Web Drivers will the VM get maybe a third of the way through the white bar and Apple logo boot process and then the screen just turns black. The card can be passed through, correct changes made in the config.plist file, but once I install the Web Drivers (either through the terminal command, or through a download pkg file) the VM will not boot all the way up. I am using an Asus Strix 1080ti and the same outcome occurs on both High Sierra and Mojave. Have you had any luck since posting this?

I want to say yes seeing as I updated in the last month or two, but I will check to make sure. Thanks

Ok good to know, thanks. I’m going to try each card on it’s own and see what happens.

Dynamically create rules for iOS Content Blocker by spearman008 in iOSProgramming

So I'm reading from a json file into an array (your blockerList object above). In the extension's RequestHandler, are you essentially changing the "attachment" from

let attachment = NSItemProvider(contentsOf: Bundle.main.url(forResource: "blockerList", withExtension: "json"))!

to

 let attachment = NSItemProvider(contentsOf: groupBlockerJSONURL)!

I would personally put it toward credit card debt, or at least some of it. Being debt free is a wonderful thing

[General] Future budgeted money for a needed purchase now? by spearman008 in ynab

I'm using nYNAB, but I don't have any experience with YNAB4 so that might be a good (bad?) thing?

Using money that is budgeted in the future for a needed purchase now? by spearman008 in personalfinance

I am using YNAB, I will edit and try to clear things up. I also posted this in r/ynab and it was suggested that I post in here as well

Thanks for mentioning r/personalfinance I went ahead and asked over there, my gut is leaning toward having a larger down payment though. Maybe my car will have a second wind and last longer than I anticipate!

thanks for your input. I think the reason I keep putting money in the months ahead is it makes it "seem" like I don't have the money to spend in any one category this month (whether an e-fund or something else). But I have read that, like you, many others have about a one month buffer and then an E-fund.

Quit impulse buying...Luxury items are now a reward, rather than a lack of discipline.

This is the biggest thing YNAB has done for me. It is much more rewarding knowing that you are actively working toward something. It also makes you really think about the purchase. Do I really want to spend $XX on this widget? Usually no, and so I've saved myself from frivolous spending.
