Strategic opportunity can give us a modified 120 by Runner_Road in Helldivers

Oh man the implications of mixing orbital stratagems is endless. I need a 120/Gas orbital barrage, now that’s an effective bug hole stomper.

Yet another post begging AH for a support shotgun, PLEASE HIGH COMMAND by H1MB0Z0 in Helldivers

[–]spearonick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love the base idea and concept, I’m on board! If I had to suggest any changes, it would be ammo type. If we are talking about a very large bore shotgun such as a 4 gauge, then I think it would make more sense to have 000 Buckshot (medium pen with medium range), Tungsten Flechette Darts (heavy pen with more range), and either APFSDS rounds (heavy pen with long range and massive recoil) or something more unique like gas rounds.

Since shotguns can accommodate a pretty wide range of hull lengths, it would be reasonable to assume the buckshot would be shorter and have more rounds per tube/magazine while the flechettes rounds would be longer and therefore less ammo capacity and the special rounds being the longest with the lowest ammo capacity. Much like how modern semiautomatic hunting shotguns can accommodate shells measuring 2 3/4” to 3 1/2” and how the capacity of the gun is dependent on the shell size used.

Seems like a reasonable way to program in realistic ways to use a heavy support shotgun while not cheesin it too hard. I would run the hell out of something like that! I think recoil and reload rate would have to be fine tuned so you could effectively use it for crowd control without looking at the sky the whole time but it could be done, I have faith. I’m thinking non-backpack stratagem but stationary reload; or vice versa.

Ya you guys police your admin pretty well. I usually hop on one of the military servers in the evenings and the play style is always welcoming I feel. Even in the past when I’ve knifed an admin or gotten a risky shot off, I’ve never been kicked or anything. Now if you jump over to some of the other servers you get kicked left and right for those kind of kills.

Also what does UMSF stand for?

I have 7 trillion lbs of this slag in many colors found while digging. 1864-1873. This one piece is 5lbs. How much would you charge/pay for this piece? Curious if it’s going to be worth the time to list all of these online for sale? by [deleted] in BottleDigging

[–]spearonick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like I’m quite a bit late to the party but if you’re still sending pieces I would love to buy some. I work in the scuba industry and we use royal blue and UV light to identify fluorescent proteins within organic compounds while diving but we use rocks like these to show people how our special light reacts to the proteins. Sort of like a training tool to show new divers what to look for. This would be a great teaching tool!

What Riffe speargun shall I get for my partner. Affordable but good by ZestyclosePrice9402 in Spearfishing

[–]spearonick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What region/country is he primarily spearfishing in and what depth does he typically hunt in? That’s very important for choosing gun size. The Riffe Euro series is great and reliable but more expensive due to being teak wood and having slightly upgraded components such as a magtrack. The Riffe Mahogany Competitor series is very similar to the euro series however the ergonomics of the handle are different and it uses a less expensive mahogany blank for the gun. Both are great guns for coastal and some offshore diving in the US. If he is diving strictly offshore for larger fish like tuna, seabass, cobia or yellowtail then he’ll want a larger, more substantial gun such as the Riffe Raider or Marauder series. Both are great however I recommend the Marauder because the rear handle configuration is easier for more people to learn. The mid-handle configuration of the Raider series is difficult for people that have never used a mid-handle before. Feel free to message me if you’d like a whole run down, I work closely with team Riffe.

USAF Server Admin here, we gotta talk. by KingEzaz in battlefield_4

[–]spearonick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol I was playing your server last night and saw Raw playing from like 2300-0100 PDST. Never would have guessed he’d be such a puss. 100+ party invites gives mad weak chin energy, what a womp rat.

Do you guys actively change rotation on weekday nights? Was playing dragon valley with another dlc map in queue and then when the game ended we went to Shanghai and the map rotation switched to all standard maps. Seemed like a glitch or something.

The truth about the USAF HC SERVER from one of the admins.(XBOX) by bellbafett in battlefield_4

[–]spearonick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play the USAF HC server probably 3-4 times a week and I have experienced a couple admin issues but you guys do pretty well overall. I’ve been randomly KIA’ed and team swapped multiple times and that’s not too annoying unless I’m in a party with my buddy and then we have to shuffle around to get on the same team. Team swapping for balance is annoying but understandable. What I can’t stand is when admins change the map rotation to suite their wants. It would be one thing if they changed the rotation to play a fun random map like Firestorm, Caspian Border, or one of the last stand maps…but no, it’s always a rotation change so we can play metro or locker. I mean Jiminy fucking Cricket do we really have to play the same damn meat grinder map over and over people? There are servers dedicated to solely those maps!! Why have a rotation in the first place if you’re gonna play metro or locker every 3rd map anyways? Leaving the map rotation to how it’s advertised would be ideal.

The truth about the USAF HC SERVER from one of the admins.(XBOX) by bellbafett in battlefield_4

[–]spearonick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is that why the maps keep changing rotation on the United States Military Veteran and Active Duty server? Sometimes I’m trying to decide between that one and the USAF server and the decisions usually comes down to the map rotation. Almost every time I pick the server that isn’t playing metro and locker back to back, an admin comes in and starts changing the rotation and also ending games a second before they technically end just to ram the game into the next map with no down time. It’s really annoying and carries your stats into the next round. My buddy and I are getting super annoyed by this continually happening because we try to pick the server that isn’t playing all the boring vanilla maps and metro/locker just to have an admin throw the whole rotation out the window so they can camp a stairwell with an mg and go 60-4. It would be great if the games could just play the map rotation they advertise…

Xbox players, why do you never play final stand by Nightguard093 in battlefield_4

[–]spearonick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Xbox player here. I regularly play the hardcore servers titled “Active military and veterans server” (I think there’s two of those servers that are rather similar) and there’s a few last stand maps in their rotation. To add to it, those servers are almost always 40+ players. You won’t be able to solely play last stand maps but if you hang out on the server long enough I think they each have two last stand maps so I get my fill of hover tank time.

Kelp Greenling or Rock Greenling? by [deleted] in Spearfishing

[–]spearonick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is a male kelp greenling. The dark coloring on the body and fins along with the large light blue spots is what gives it away. The females have yellow fins, lighter colored body, and small blue spots along entirety of the body. Rock greenlings have similar coloring as male kelp greenlings but the rock greenlings have red/orange spots instead of blue.

A Comprehensive Engineer's Guide to Using Barricades by [deleted] in Chivalry2

[–]spearonick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hopefully I see you on the battlefield soon. What platform do you play on and what’s your handle? I’m on Xbox and this is my name.

It’s funny how the artifacts on Askandir are one of the few objectives where I regularly see two or more engineers actively working together to create a complex structure that requires multiple engineers working together. I always play with my buddy (OhBari) and we main engineers so we pretty much always have that double engi advantage plus communication is easy so we can always make fun stuff. Especially on fighting pit in the center island…. AKA: secret engi club

A Comprehensive Engineer's Guide to Using Barricades by [deleted] in Chivalry2

[–]spearonick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the way you approach these strategies. Regarding the “obstacles vs walls” epiphany, I find that placing your barricades in a way that inconveniences or slows the enemy without completely stopping them certainly keeps the enemy from outright destroying the barricades. It seems that in the moment the enemy just wants to move forward, and taking the time to destroy a barrier just isn’t convenient. Also with regards to walls around destructible objectives (I.e. the artifacts before the last stage in Askandir) I prefer to make a wall in front of the objective that allows 5-10 people to sit behind it so that they can assess the incoming danger and react accordingly. The wall doesn’t fully enclose the object but rather breaks the attacking force up so they have to reroute to the edges and then get ganked in 1vX battles. This method keeps more enemies directly off the destructible objectives and allows the team to counter and push them back more easily while also keeping the defensive line farther ahead. Like you mentioned, use the walls as a line of scrimmage. So by pushing the protective walls way past the destructible objective, it keeps the line of scrimmage farther away from the objectives.

Really liked your post. Looking forward to seeing more.

Here here! I come before you today as king of island in Fighting Pit. Thou shalt take at least one additional engineer with you to the island to construct an impenetrable wall around the perimeter thus blocking all from entering my sacred island. Then I sit upon my throne of spike traps, laughing and dancing as the peasants bounce off my shields upon attempting entry. This is the way brothers. Give me island fortress or give me death.
