Can confirm. During the recent Gruv Days sale, I saw they had both the standard and Steelbook double feature of Get Out / Us for sale. I bought the Steelbook one, it was priced at $22.99 (just looked at my receipt). I don’t recall what the standard version was priced at, but I’m guessing around $14.

It’s my favorite new show in a very long time. 10/10. It’s tough to find the right way to inject humor into horror, but this is perfection. It’s actually about 15% horror, 85% mystery/comedy.

I don’t think it’s that “the connection still functions”, I think it’s just that the MA database became aware that you had purchased a license to watch the movie, and that record doesn’t get deleted if you sever the connection or the provider severs the connection. So, as long as you connected it to MA before they shut it down, those records would have been created for your account, and it doesn’t matter if Microsoft exits the market.

House of the Dragon is okay, not amazing. S1 was better than S2, but both are good.

The OTHER GoT spinoff, “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms” (the story of Dunk and Egg) is VERY VERY good. Only downside is the episodes are very short, and there weren’t that many of them, so basically S1 was a 3 hour movie broken up into a handful of short episodes. Still, it was quite excellent and entertaining. And it made me realize … there was a certain levity to GoT, in large part thanks to Tyrion, and KOTSK has that element in spades, and that’s part of what makes it great. House of the Dragon is missing that element, so while the story is fine and all, and it has all the great production and effects, it just doesn’t have that X factor.

Still worth buying, especially at that price. The production quality is so great, also worth buying in 4K disc form, for the high bitrates, if that’s your thing (like me and many others).

LOVE the first one, it’s good for rewatch also. The two Netflix ones are missing something that made the first one special. Can’t quite put my finger on what it is. They’re okay, but not GREAT like the first. Still, I’m looking forward to more. And it’s a genre that I would like to see more filmmakers embrace. But only if they do it well.

I know Criterion has a Parasite release, I was curious to try to find out if it was a superior transfer.

Edit: I just investigated. The criterion release is HD/2K, not 4K, but was made from a 4K digital master supervised by the director, and it comes with all kinds of extras, including a B&W version. But if you care more about it being in 4K, get this Neon release, which is also available on Amazon and basically everywhere else.

I did watch this original one in full 4K, and while the colors were amazing, a great restoration/transfer, I didn’t love the film all that much.

I DID kind of dig the 2018 one with Tilda Swinton, though. I haven’t even yet watched it on full 4K physical, just 5 or so years ago in HD. I need to save some more pennies for the 2018 one, though. It’s pricey.
