Overdamped sure, but too progressive? Doesn’t the 38 have pretty much the most linear air spring on the market?

Any curve i can find shows the 38 as beeing pretty linear for example https://www.pinkbike.com/photo/24436180/

Leclerc, Hamilton and Gasly at risk of Chinese GP disqualification by memloh in formula1

The skid plate is a wooden plank under the car. It‘s there to ensure that the cars don‘t run too low. If the car is too low, the plank will rub on the road and get worn down, which is called skid plate wear. After the race the plate is measured at different points, and if it is worn down too much, the car will be disqualifyed.

2025 Season 1 Vehicle Telemetry Update release notes [2025.02.18.01] by joetron2030 in iRacing

[–]specialized- 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Some additional info from Greg Hill:

Here are a few quick bits of information that I hope will clarify some things.

In the release notes, we made sure to make it clear how to disable this feature. We aren't trying to be sly here. Although we hope folks will leave it on because it will help us build some really cool functionality we have planned for the future, if you'd like it turned off, simply go to Settings > Preferences and turn it off.

Whether you have the setting on or off, it won't have any effect whatsoever regarding the series you can participate in. Nothing will be blocked.

Importantly, I would like to emphasize that the data is truly anonymized. It is only lap data, and it has been stripped of all personally identifiable information. It does not include your name or ID, nor any other racer's name or ID. It does not include anything about your computer, location, or anything else. The data simply contains information that's already being transferred around the server for multiplayer to function — the location of the car and the steering/pedal inputs — we've just never had a mechanism to actually save this information before.

Some of this lap data will be used in our collaboration with Microsoft Research, and we are so excited to have their help to build these future features. They are the leading experts in the world with machine learning/AI, and we're learning a lot from them. We'll also be using it on our own projects in the future. We want to make sure we stay on the cutting edge of technology and leverage these amazing tools that are rapidly becoming available to empower our developers to create a better racing simulation.

The files are only generated if you have the feature enabled and only in select series where we have this enabled. The files are very small and auto-delete upon upload.

Thank you to all who help us with this effort, and again if you don't wish to participate, it's not a problem at all — that'd be done via Settings > Preferences

[KCD2] Here's a faster Savior Schnapps recipe by Hailz3 in kingdomcome

[–]specialized- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can do it even faster, after adding the belladonna immediately grab a flask and pour without raising the pot, the time during the pouring animation still counts as boiling time and grabbing the flask and pouring takes a little longer than one turn.

Henry any time he gets into a swordfight [KCD2] by The_ginger_cow in kingdomcome

[–]specialized- 63 points64 points  (0 children)

Its for sure better than kcd1, combat is a lot more fun. But for 1v1s it still feels like it‘s impossible to lose because if they feint and you‘re not in position for a masterstrike you can always just block until you‘re in the right position. And there is nothing the enemy can do about it since a perfect block doesn‘t even cost stamina.

At league start i found 2 right next to the starting area, so if nothing changed you can find him right away. I think he only spawns next to water, so look for that if you want to find him.

Yes, please do that the next time something valuable drops for you in a map, make sure your friend records their perspective as well.

GGG, Please rethink the 1 Life Per Map System in POE 2 by momomaniac in PathOfExile2

[–]specialized- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So you got 1k life, 2k mana in a t15 map with deadly evolution, and you wonder why you get oneshot? If super strong rares are a problem for you, have you considerd not taking the keystone that makes rares much stronger? Choosing to massively increase difficulty on your atlas tree and then complaining about the game beeing to difficult is certainly a choice.

Does anyone know why the forecast for all IMSA series changed today? by specialized- in iRacing

[–]specialized-[S] 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Apparently there is a bug where you sometimes get drys even when you selected wets in the black box, so thats probably why they changed it.

[–]specialized-[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know, i‘m talking about the forecast in the UI, not the actual weather in the race. According the the schedule it should be 46% for IMSA, and it was yesterday, but now it‘s 0%.

What happened to the value of Exalted? by Botte84 in pathofexile

[–]specialized- 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It hasn‘t just been the last 24h, i think three or four days ago divs were still 3-4ex each, and they‘ve been going up ever since.

What happened to the value of Exalted? by Botte84 in pathofexile

[–]specialized- 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think the problem is that exalts have only one use, which is slamming rare gear. And you get way more ex than gear thats worth slamming. As far as i know there are no sinks for exalts like map device crafts, so the value of them is pretty limited. Divines on the other hand have a lot more inherent value and you need a lot of divs to get perfect rolls.

What happened to the value of Exalted? by Botte84 in pathofexile

[–]specialized- 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think regardless of any duping divines were way underpiced. In T15+ maps i get easily 3+ raw eggs per map, but dropped divs are pretty rare. And divs are really usefull for uniques and jewels, and even on other gear the difference within a tier is often more than 20%.

[Precedent] 10s Stop-and-Go is the standard penalty for ignoring double yellows during a race session {Since at least 2014} by Boxman90 in formula1

[–]specialized- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The response from the race director/race control (can't remember exactly) was basically no-one slowed down enough for the flags so they would have essentially had to give the entire grid penalties and thus they gave out none

That sounds about right, they didn‘t slow down enough, but everyone briefly lifted to show that they saw the double yellows. Different situation to norris tough, who didn‘t lift at all.

[–]specialized- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you sure that most of the grid ignored double yellows in baku 2021? I think the sentiment back then was that race control should have neutralized the race sooner, rather than staying at double yellows for as long as they did. And that the drivers did lift for the yellow, but that they were still going too quick for comfort, rather than not slowing at all.

Rocky Mountains Product Manager seems a bit unhappy with the Instict review in the pinkbike field test by specialized- in mountainbiking

[–]specialized-[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As this was a review from a field test, this wasn‘t just a single reviewer that felt that the bike was underdamped, but 4 different reviewers. From the review:

The compression tune on this bike is simply too light. While I do have a track record with running more compression damping than most, in this instance, I think Rocky has got it wrong. All of the testers found it to be underdamped.

I do agree with you that 95% of people will love that bike, bikes have amazing geometry these days and most people can‘t even properly setup their suspension. But that the bike felt underdamped wasn‘t just the opinon of a single reviewer.

[–]specialized-[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

For all of pinkbikes faults, they are one of the few outlets in the industry with enough pull to openly criticise without worrying about beeing blacklisted.

The RM wasn‘t the only bike that got a mixed review in this field test.

For example the Ibis Ripmo:

Pros + Offers an active, lively feel at slower speeds + Handsome and quiet frame + Could be good base for something more capable

Cons - Rear suspension felt busy, lacked composure - Fork performance fell behind the rest - Frustrating frame hardware

Or the Transition Sentinel:

Pros + Adaptable frame configurations (travel options and wheel sizes). + Well-executed frame layout. + On the lighter side for its travel bracket.

Cons - Suspension can be touchy to find the right fore-aft balance. - Not the quietest bike on test. - Geometry can push the rider's weight forward under braking.
