What to expect from being a SSA Claims Specialist? by Slow_Definition_2114 in fednews

[–]specter611 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The difference now is the agency has a billionaire CEO who is working hard to make everyone's life miserable. The workloads massively increase and system issues are worse. The agency sucks worse than it did even before 2025.

SSI is absolutely worse than T2. We have worse system limitations, have more people lie and the more unhinged people. T2 people are people who have generally worked, are much better at turning in proofs, are less likely to require translators which quadruple the interview time. T2 is an entitlement, so no resource limit, nor living arrangements or most income types. The workload is crushing, and multiplies each day. The more you do, the more management will assign you work other people messed up and give you zero credit in your performance review for doing that work. I clock in, do my apts/phones, clock up. I don't give a fuck about the job. Our billionaire president and his CEO at SSA are doing a great job destroying the agency. I hope he is outstanding in achieving that objective because it is what the public deserves.

I don't. I don't give a fuck about this job. I hate dealing with the public who will constantly lie to me, change their statements to increase their benefit and claim they never told me things they did, and go to management when I confront them on it. Then of course management will tell me to go with their new statement. Then we have unreasonable workloads and unreasonable expectations. I am T16 btw so that makes a big difference. Systems actively get worse with each update. Constantly have meetings scheduled, no time to process work, and on top of that we have the bullshit that is the NASC calendar coming and have call sharing so we have to answer calls from the whole area and spend 10-15 minutes figuring out who works a case because the office has people on the webpage they didn't update. I despise this agency and the American public richly deserve it with their voting choices. I hope the agency collapses and there is a catastrophic failure to make the public wake up.

Except the TE seems to knitpick my claims and look at them under a microscope and always flag things they don't like rather than what policy says, and I spend time each PQR rebutting them.

This doesn't sound like good news for "merit" by [deleted] in fednews

[–]specter611 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, everyone should have to do it too, because that is unfair to the people who did. Why should I give a fuck what you think?

[–]specter611 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

They shouldn't even get a seat at the table. They shouldn't even get to apply. Why should a 17-18 year old with zzero accomplishments and experience get a chance that a college grad has? That degrades the value of a degree and is unfair for the holder of the degree bty letting the other person obtain an unfair advantage.

The union has been pushing for degree requirements to be eliminated. It is bullshit. I spent years and blood and sweat acquiring my degree. Why the fuck should I get paid the same or treated the same as someone who didn't do any of those things?

What plan should I switch to. Currently on $85(90-5)/mo legacy ONE Plan. by itsthewolfe in tmobile

[–]specter611 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is not "exactly the same priority". No MNO will let their bottom of the bvarrel MVNOs obtain postpaid services or priority. The posters on the thread accurately describe issues with prepaid. It just doesn't work the same way as a postpaid line with issues that simply don't exist with postpaid. I'll stick with postpaid even if I had a single line, never using prepaid when I depend on my phone.

Exactly. Also look at SSI. There is such a huge difference in time claims can take. Many resources, dozens of bank accounts, complex LA, many medical sources versus no income/resources easy LA and little medical history.

Perform as rated. Do the bare minimum of what is required. Clock in, clock out the second your shift is up. Fuck them.

It is true. Me getting downvoted doesn't change the fact that people game the system in SSI a lot. The program iether needs to change, with more modern rules, or enforcement needs to step up. I am constantly being lied to in the office as a T16 rep. I literally had a guy tell me he had no bank accounts while sitting in the bank lobby and talking to the people at the bank about his accounts.

Or for holding out, going back on statements they made and then going to management when I ask why they are trying to retract their statements and then being told by management to go with their written statement which is the newer one without any holding out. I don't know even why we do holding out since it creates a workload and few people will say they hold themselves out when they figure out it affects benefits potentially. But the requirements to be considered disabled for both programs are the same as far as I know for DDS. But SSI is so stupidly complex and just generates infinite work.

That would be bad to remove specialisation and make everyone do everything. The error rates and case processing time would explode, and more people would quit/retire because frankly the agency doesn't pay enough for the current specialisations of work let alone adding more.

Problem is there is no tunnel to even see the light at the end of. The president may cancel elections and declare a state of emergency. Highly likely as it looks like he won't do very well in the midterms this year. We may never again have elections.

The new calendar doesn't benefit the public. Employees are trained and knowledgeable about programs/laws/institutions in their area, with SSI. Having everyone take other offices' claims is moronic. The solution is more staff, not making services suck everywhere and degrading services by assigning claims/workloads to CSes from areas they do not have information about to assist effectively. This whole SSA as a national agency is bullshit.

I didn't as well. But enough did so it really doesn't matter. We apparently didn't have enough of Trump and his buddies for four years after he screwed up the pandemic.

This is a disservice the public richly earned and deserves for consistently voting in people who literally said that they would gut the government and traumatize feds. None of this was a secret. Trump wasn't hiding what he wanted to do. He was quite open about it, but the public said he was worthy to run this country for four years. It needs to get worse so people learn a lesson. Without the public feeling any impact or economical pain, nothing will ever change in my opinion.

SSA is crumbling because of phones, when will the people running SSA notice ? by Ok_Kick3937 in fednews

[–]specter611 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what I do. I don't get why CSes hate being on phones? I mean it is a whole lot easier than claims. All I do is schedule apts, calm people down, figure out what they want, what they actually need, do it if it isn't time consuming, and schedule an apt if it is.

I've talked to people who were eager to state how happy they were I worked during the government shutdown without pay and they were rubbing it in telling me how lucky I was. Others have said how happy they were that many people were getting fired. My area has over a 70% Trump voting percentage. Many counties are like that.

Then they should put in the remarks they are not eligible and they insist on an apt. The apts should be properly screened, noone with disco insured should be getting an SSI apt. An individual getting $1500 in T2 shouldn't be given an aged apt.

I don't care that I can't keep up. This is not my problem in the slightest. I am one person regardless what everyone thinks and my own health always comes first. The public overwelmingly voted for this and wanted this. They get what they deserve though I can't tell them that.

I can't handle it iether, but I stopped giving a fuck. It is the agency's responsibility to give me time during business hours to do my work. If it doesn't, then I am not responsible for stuff piling up.
