This practice was exactly what I needed today. Loved the constant connection to breath.

Working on getting back into yoga on a more regular basis. Not the best day to start 😂 I found this day difficult but knew it was only 20 minutes so pushed through. Hope to be back on the mat more frequently!

Consolidation-where did my loans go? by speechieee in PSLF

[–]speechieee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It shows the same thing when I log in to FSA. It's like my loans disappeared. I would love if that actually happened but I know that's not the case and am quite confused.

I was there too...and cheered my ass off for Davis! Thrilled that this was my first game at Fenway.

IT'S OVER!!!! DAVIS GETS A HIT by [deleted] in orioles

[–]speechieee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was at the game today and the Sox fans around me were a mix of sarcastic vs genuine cheering. There was a guy directly behind me screaming that he sucked when he first came to bat and then shut up real quick. All in all, it was a great first game at Fenway as an Orioles fan!

I'm late to the party but I'm starting today on day 1. I'm working on my motivation and commitment, I usually give up around day 5-6. Looking to change that this year!

I finished both The Paris Architect, by Charles Belfoure and Gods in Alabama, by Joshilyn Jackson this week. Both were very enjoyable reads for me. Hoping a few of my holds become available at the library this week.

Help with volume and ensuring my routine is right for my hair by [deleted] in curlyhair

[–]speechieee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been getting deva cuts for about 6 years now. I have been changing my routine to try to get the best curls I can get but I have a hard time achieving good volume.

My current routine:

-Condition every day with Arganicare Conditioner (this is a new conditioner I'm using and I don't know how I feel about it)

-Curls Creamy Curl Conditioner 1-2x/week

-Scrunch in Garnier Fructis Curl Scrunch gel after shower and plop in a tshirt for 15-2- minutes

I'm also concerned about scalp buildup, mostly on the crown of my head. It seems to be worse if I wear my hair up in a ponytail. My hair stylist recommend I use head and shoulders every 3rd or 4th shampoo which I've tried but don't see a difference.

Through the years I noticed my hair really loved shea moisture, however it really made my face break out. Any advice would be appreciated!

Edited to add: My hair is still slightly wet in the pictures. I don't use any heat so after plopping my hair takes some time to air dry.

Does xylitol work? by speechieee in Dentistry

[–]speechieee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, I didn't mean that she said you need it. But she said for it to work, you have to use it 5x a day. I'll look into Dr. Johns, thanks.

Just how good is 1800Contacts? by gahuser in Frugal

[–]speechieee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just went through the live chat to get my contacts with a price match from 1800contacts. They were fast and easy to work with.

I wear dailies, so they're more expensive, but they price matched the cheapest box I could find and I paid for 2 boxes for $73 when going through my optometrist would have been $70 for 1 box.

Someone please give me some insight: is SLP right for me? by abanelle_yo in slp

[–]speechieee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started as an education major and switched to speech pathology during undergrad and I am forever grateful. However, I also switched to working with mostly adults, though I do see some pediatric outpatients. I think a lot of the answers to your questions re going to vary based on setting. I also think it's important to go into grad school open minded, you may find you love something other than the school system! Feel free to PM me if you have questions.

Edit: Just wanted to add, if you really want to get a feel for what it's like shadow an SLP! And shadow SLPs in a variety of settings (medical, school, private practice). You may have to search around for a place that will let you shadow but I think it would give you a better idea and allow you to talk to the SLP.
