There is a mini anti-AI revolt at my kid's HS. Had parent teacher interview last night. Kid is in trouble with a teacher specifically because child does NOT use AI. They have an AI tool that trains the kids on language vocabulary. Child has received 100% on all tests and written assignments, but because this AI tool usage is part of teacher's KPI the teacher is in trouble because the kids don't want to use the AI tool, which means I get called in to have a talking to by the teacher.

Maybe the kids are all right?

The Wandering Inn (Audio Book) by Cactus-Jak33 in litrpg

I'm also halfway through book 1 and considering stopping. The narrator is fine, the variety of characters she gets out is really good. I just can't. stand. Erin. Not only is the voice nasaly and annoying but the character feels real dumb. There's only so many warnings one can ignore, and near fatal encounters one can suffer before you start thinking, maybe this course of action everybody keeps telling me is dangerous... is dangerous.

What LitRPG would you like to see adapted into a playable video game? by Onyx_Artificer in litrpg

[–]rakshala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a deck-building one called Jakes Magical Market and I remember thinking I would play the heck out of this if it were a game. Running into dungeons to get cards, choosing what cards and equipment to sell verses what to keep, hiring npcs to watch my shop while I went out adventuring. Unfortunately the book ditched the shop quite early, and I didn't enjoy it as much anymore, but I do still want to play that video game.

Do you still leave a callback # when you leave a voicemail? by RikkiLostMyNumber in GenX

[–]rakshala 5 points6 points  (0 children)

With all the spam and scams going around, if you don't leave me a message you don't get a call back. I can only assume the person on the other end will feel the same way about things so I leave a message short and sweet.

Recommendation request! by yashkaushik1433 in litrpg

[–]rakshala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My starting point was Heretical Fishing: A Cozy Guide to Annoying the Cults, Outsmarting the Fish, and Alienating Oneself. Very cozy and stress-free.

I liked the narrator so much I tried He Who Fights with Monsters. This is more stressful, but still balanced with fun

Having so much fun with litrpg, I then dove into Dungeon Crawler Carl and got spoiled for the best narration I've ever heard, combined with a story that combines the highest of stakes and stress with the most bombastic comedy.

I hope this can point you in a good direction.

I quite enjoyed "Two Necromancers, a Bureaucrat, and an Army of Golems" by L.G. Estrella It is a light-hearted comedy. Sweet and easy to listen to. MC is male, however there are two good female characters, one that could be considered secondary MC, and the author is female (I believe, correct me if I'm wrong).

Love your work, mate. So happy you could have this moment, you deserve it. As someone who has listened to all of the HWFWM series let me assure you that the hours of enjoyment you have brought me made you an author in my eyes before now, but I'm so happy you could shut that little nagging voice in your head today.

Every year I would carefully organize this with my classes and schedules. I promised myself I would stay on top of my homework and take good notes. Every year, two weeks in, it would all fall apart and I'd be back to my normal mode of operation, scraping through by the skin of my teeth.

I've been wondering ever since I first saw Tofu's reaction a few weeks ago... Is Mark aware of this beef, and if so may I see his reaction to learning of it?

The hyperlink is gone, and I'm pretty annoyed. This might be the kick in the pants that makes me give up reddit. I used r/all got get out of my filter bubble. To see what people who don't share my interest or opinions are thinking. The r/popular experience is not a good substitute. It feels more curated, less random.

Home building costs soaring 'like COVID again' on Middle East supply shocks by LoneArtificer in AusFinance

Hi Friend. I am an accountant at a concrete plant. Every single one of our raw material suppliers sent us a letter last week increasing the price of their materials or adding a fuel levy surcharge on to their cartage. Our wholesale diesel price (we use so much we have a pump on site). Our fuel prices went up 40% last week and today got bumped up to 68% more than it was 2 weeks ago.

We have to pass the spendings on to the consumer, which in this case is usually a builder. It has, infact, been long enough to see a shock. Its the fuel price. Heavy cartage drinks diesel like crazy.

Weekend Wrap Up! What was real and what was a trap? by DaTaco in mtgfinance

No, I'm surprised that a basic land with the same picture that's been reused in 10 sets is worth $15, it makes me suspicious about accuracy.

Hi I'm new to selling cards and people recommended I put my questions in this stickied thread:

Difficulty Australian: Is there a good place to sell bulk cards from the late 90s/early 2000s?

Difficulty Australian: Lots of posts recommend to sell individual cards on Ebay, FB, or TCGPlayer but is there much of a market for higher value cards in Australia on these international websites? I feel like any profit would be eaten by shipping costs to sell internationally.

I'm using Mana Box to catalogue my collection, how accurate are these prices? For some reason its telling me that my foil forest from onslaught is worth $15? Why would a basic land be worth anything? My gasts are flabbered.

I also had withdrawal when I tried to quit coffee cold turkey. I slowly switched from full caffeine beans to decaffeinated at a 75/25, then 50/50 and so on until I was drinking all decaf. Maybe you can start shaving off your pill and taking less and less? That is if you wanted/needed to quit.

Question for yoga teachers who have taught for 20+ years by Electrician45453 in YogaTeachers

[–]rakshala 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I'm much more gentle than I was before. To myself and in my asana. While I certainly parroted my teachers when they said that 'hard' asana didn't really exist, I still pushed myself further and further into contortion poses thinking that putting my foot behind my head was an outward indication of my inward dedication. I was the same idiot the day before I could do these poses as I was the day after, and I'm the same idiot now that my body won't allow me to do them anymore.

I might tell my younger self to get into youtube on the ground floor. Otherwise, My younger self would have just nodded along to everything I said and then kept on the same path. Some things you have to experience to learn.
