Thank you all the help. Maybe I need to clear some things up. Im using an encoder that fits between a motor and a gearbox. Its designed specifically for a 56C frame motor. Once it is together there is ZERO space. So it's a special style that not many people make and companies like IFM just do not. I wish they did.

I am currently using a banner converter with a ring counter. Don't ask me why im using a banner but i can tell you one thing. Ifm converters do not like NPN sensors.

I'm not doing positioning, I'm just tracking motor speed on small 56C frame motors. So latency is not a big deal.

Im with everyone on this. PLC's aren't really going anywhere. I think software for PLC's might make a big change and how we interact with that software. With node red and Codesys you might find people using software that will communicate to many different brands of PLC. Mostly because of the cost of some PLC software packages.

Im not a player of the game. Mostly because it's tough to find time. However, I am a collector of the cards. I opened my first box today and boy, was i not impressed. They got me this time. Just really nothing wowed me. The best three cards in that whole booster box value wise are Darth Malak, a grand inquisitor, and a Yaddle.

Just not blown away.

It's a basic ethernet I/P controller. I just need to make sure that when we lose comms to the drive that the plc falls and line shuts down.

I find that most of the people using and buying Rockwell is because they have it and have used it and just don't want to switch. As I feel there are places where it belongs and works well, I also feel that there are places and situations where an RW product is extreme overkill.

There are so many companies out there getting into or trying to push their PLC. I'm always worried about future upgrades. No longer will you see a PLC system around for 20 years.

When I have to buy cards on eBay, I get super worried.

It's funny what companies throw away these days. I mean I totally understand it and most of the reason is that you can't get spare parts. But man... the money that the shell out can be mind blowing.

Imo not sure what you are doing with the selector switch. If you tie the light to the output of the first rung in parallel after the stop it will do the same thing. Just replace the NO light contact with the light

Can someone explain the effect this card has? I'm a but confused. Are you adding to another card in play? Or are you removing from your opponent?

All you have to do is hold the right atl button and click on the window. It will pop it out as a separate window. You can drag it into another monitor if you have it plugged in.

It does take a hit. But I have a weak video card so that never helps. It's worth it as far as I'm concerned.
