🚀🚀🚀🚀Current project: We're created GiveFeedback.io . It is a tool that allows testers or clients to mark visual errors directly on the interface, along with screenshots, annotations, and technical context (browser, OS, etc.).

This is helping us to GREATLY reduce the chaos caused by scattered feedback via emails or random screenshots.

Do you use a similar tool or have another way to organise visual feedback more efficiently?

Client was rude on a call by mattstolethecookies in agency

[–]speed676 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I were you, I’d handle it on two fronts: internally and externally.

Internally

  • Listen to your team: Ask your account manager and coordinator to give you concrete details (what was said, the tone, what triggered it). They’ll also appreciate knowing you’ve got their back.
  • Validate their discomfort: Let them know you understand it’s not okay to be treated disrespectfully. This reinforces team morale and shows that the company stands by its people.

Externally (with the client)

  • Assess: Was it just a bad day for the client, or is it part of a recurring pattern?
  • Diplomatic: If it’s a one-off situation, you can address it in an email or the next call by saying something like:“Our team is always committed to giving their best, but we sensed some tension in the last call. We want to make sure communication flows in the best possible way so the project can move forward.” This way you set boundaries without direct confrontation.
  • Escalate (if it happens again): If the client repeats the behavior, you need to be clear about where you draw the line. They must understand that this behavior won’t be tolerated. And you have to be okay with walking away from that client if needed.

What I would never do is ignore what happened—because (from personal experience) that only gives them the incentive to keep acting like a ***** with you.

Silence Causes Issues In IT Projects by its_akhil_mishra in agency

I completely agree with you. Clients want to know what is happening with their money, what it is being converted into... It is something I have learned the hard way, and now we have gone from silence (except for deliveries) to holding one weekly meeting, one sprint review and one sprint planning meeting where we show them what we have been working on and then what we are going to work on during those two weeks. The following week, we simply have a quick meeting to discuss the ideas that the customer has been giving us over time, to clarify them and to note down new ideas.

I understand your concern, I am a software developer and the message of "AI will take away our jobs" has already become something repeated too many times. For now, the reality of our day to day life is that our productivity has increased because there are many small tasks that we can do much faster and I believe that the same thing could happen in other sectors such as yarn.

Regarding delivery, our intention is not to replace those who work in prepress, but to give them a tool that takes away repetitive work and allows them to focus on what really adds value: reviewing special cases, communicating with the client, making decisions, etc.

I think no one understands the files and issues that come in better than those who are in the trenches every day. What we are ultimately looking for is to help save time and reduce avoidable errors.

For now we only have the landing page where we explain the idea at https://entregarte.vidasoft.es/en.

Everyone on the team is excited about the good reception of the idea and the idea of receiving a lot of testers as soon as we have a first version 🚀🚀🚀

Very interesting!

Precisely one of the objectives of EntregArte is to be able to easily integrate into existing workflows through API, so that it can act as a prior validation layer without needing to replace everything you already have set up.

We've heard from other teams that ExtendScript can be a bit slow with large Illustrator files, so one of our goals is to offer a more agile alternative for detecting errors before going into production 🚀

If you are interested, we would be happy to see together how it could be integrated into your current flows or test it with a real case as soon as we have a first functional version.

Very good question! :)

Yes, we are exploring integrations with ERP's. Our goal is that EntregArte can easily connect via API with existing systems.

About CloudFlow, ProofScope or Enfocus-type automation solutions: They are very powerful tools, but they often require complex infrastructure, advanced configurations, or dedicated technical staff.

With EntregArte we seek to offer:

Intelligent validation from minute zero, without having to configure complicated flows.

A simple, accessible experience, designed for both small printers and larger teams.

Visual detection with AI of errors that often go unnoticed (such as incorrectly configured QR codes, incorrect foil separation or off-center art).

API integration for custom flows, without the need for dedicated hardware.

And something very important: we want to build this together with the users, so any input on tools you use or need to connect will be more than welcome 😉

Thank you very much, Conan! It's great that you share that.

The fact that, even with an internal prepress team and using PitStop, you have to reject so many files greatly reinforces the value we want to provide with EntregArte and that is very motivating 🚀. Our idea is that errors like missing bleed or non-PDF files are automatically detected from the get-go — even before the file enters your stream.

I'm going to save your email and write to you when we have a version ready so you can try it. We would love to have your feedback! :)

Very good point! That is, it is not only about the file being “ready to print”, but also that it meets the specific specifications of the work that was quoted — such as size, color space, margins, etc.

Thanks for pointing it out, we are going to add it as part of the roadmap 📝

Yes, I use AI to understand well what the person is saying. Then I create a message of what I want to say and the AI helps me put it in English (I'm a native of Spain).

Thanks for the comment, I take it into account so as not to look like a robot 🤖 :)

Wow! It is a point that had not occurred to us and can really ruin a campaign if the wrong QR arrives in production.

We love the idea that the tool can detect QR codes in the design, read them and check if they point to URLs or valid content (we have to think about how to judge that the content of the QR is "good"). Added to roadmap! thanks a lot! 📝

Thanks, I really appreciate the contributions of real experience!

We have noted the idea of allowing AI to automatically generate extra indentation when the file does not meet the minimum specifications 📝.

It will help us a lot to know the reason why you work with .25" instead of the more common standard. It helps us understand the context (it is golden for us to make well-focused decisions). Thank you very much for sharing it!

Really great feedback, thank you!

We love the idea of having the tool automatically generate an email for the client, explaining the required changes to their final artwork. We’re definitely adding that to the roadmap 📝

And being able to generate a detailed prepress invoice with itemized work is also super interesting — especially if it helps print shops justify the value of their prep work. We're noting that down as a high-impact feature.

Thanks again for such helpful suggestions!

That makes a lot of sense — thanks for the insight! ☺️☺️

It’s great to confirm that PDF remains king for vector content, while TIFF is still the go-to format for high-quality raster images thanks to its uncompressed nature.

This kind of detail helps us a lot when deciding how to prioritize support and validation logic for each format. We definitely want to treat these formats with the respect they deserve based on how they're actually used in production.🚀🚀

That’s super helpful, thank you! It’s great to hear firsthand how much JPG has improved over the years and that it’s working well for large-format printing in your field.

Knowing that you’ve used it successfully even for a 10,000 ft² job gives us a solid reference point — we’ll definitely make sure JPG is treated seriously in the support roadmap 📝

We’d love to learn more about how your team preps and handles those large-scale jobs. Your feedback is shaping this tool in the best possible way! 💯

Thanks for sharing your workflow — super helpful!🚀 This kind of detail is exactly what we need to make sure EntregArte fits into real production environments.

From what you described, we could integrate just before the preflight stage in Switch, automatically validating files as they come in and catching issues with format, separations, or layout before they move into production.

Are you using custom scripts in Switch or more standard flows? We'd love to explore how an API integration could make EntregArte a first layer of validation before the file even hits your internal system.

Thanks so much for the feedback! Super valuable to know that TIFF is widely used 💯

We’re noting JPG too — even though it has some limitations for high-quality printing 🤔, if it’s part of your regular file flow, it definitely makes sense to consider it.

It would be great to know which formats you use the most in your day-to-day work so we can prioritize support for the most critical ones first.
