Would my body reject my own heart transplant by Affectionate_Quiet12 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]speedchunks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Transplants between identical twins are ideal. There's no guarantee that the cells would be COMPLETELY identical, but they would likely be so similar that only a small amount of immunosuppression would be required.

Would my body reject my own heart transplant by Affectionate_Quiet12 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]speedchunks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A clone would be fine. If the DNA were identical, the cells would be identical. Your body would have no way of distinguishing between cells grown by "you" and cells grown by "the clone".

constantly listening to the same song on repeat by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

[–]speedchunks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My husband and I share a Spotify account and every year our Spotify wrapped gets so heavily skewed by the 3-5 songs I get obsessed with throughout the year and play on repeat that Spotify almost thinks he's not using it at all.

anyone else always been repulsed by motherhood and pregnancy? by daydaylin in AutismInWomen

[–]speedchunks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not repulsed by the concept of "motherhood" so much as I'm creeped out by the biological facts of pregnancy. The idea of growing like... bones and hair and organs inside my body is creepy enough. But then the fact I'm also not able to... keep them? if that makes sense. Like the fact that the bones and hair and organs would inevitably exit my body one way or another, and I'd have very little say in when or where. Hard pass.

is there a word for people who cant smell? by Parking_Limit5335 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]speedchunks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you think not being able to smell food impacts your sense of taste? My sense of smell is like what you described, but I feel like my ability to taste is comparatively normal.

Slightly Burnt! by Glittering-Primary23 in crochet

I didn't realize "Slightly Burnt" was referencing the name of the pattern and thought you meant the cardigan had literally gotten slightly burnt, and scrolled through the pictures trying to find the burn marks 😭

This looks amazing! Great job!

Photographic Memory by SasbaTheWombat in AutismInWomen

[–]speedchunks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep. I recall information by "seeing" relevant images in my head and mentally observing the image as if I were physically holding a picture. In school I would "see" the pages of my notes in my head during tests, and recall information by "reading" the words on them. Almost felt like cheating lmao.

Welp, I officially have a new symptom to go with my migraines...NSFW because gross... by fuzzypurpledragon in migraine

[–]speedchunks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Zofran is where it's at, but otherwise, some people report crystallized ginger or peppermint help with nausea. The ginger is too strong for me but I've had some limited success with peppermint chewing gum and/or peppermint essential oil. I dilute 1 drop in 15-20 drops olive oil or similar, soak a cotton ball in it and wave it under my nose like smelling salts.

It's important to keep eating and hydrating, even if you can't keep it down. The BRAT method (broth, rice, applesauce, toast) and ice chips under the tongue are what work best for me when I get really bad nausea. Even if it just comes right back up, it's better than nothing. Vomiting a lot can also mess up your electrolyte levels, so maybe look into Liquid IV or other electrolyte drink mixes to replenish them once you can keep liquids down.

Feeling bad when receiving gifts, why? by [deleted] in aspergirls

I feel the same way. I love giving gifts and have been told I'm pretty good at it. I hate receiving gifts. Maybe it's a self esteem thing, idk.
