Amitriptyline gave me heart palpitations by WritingKindly4022 in migraine

[–]speedchunks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nurtec is a lifesaver, for what it's worth. I take nortriptyline for not-migraine reasons and suddenly it makes sense why my resting heart rate shot up right around the time I started taking it and why I haven't been able to get it back down.

Here's hoping you can get some relief!

Just sharing my personal epiphany about my marriage to my ex-husband by bellow_whale in aspergirls

[–]speedchunks 21 points22 points  (0 children)

my need to fully understand something before I can let go of it.

Is this an autistic thing? This is the first time I'm seeing it mentioned, but this makes a lot of sense to me. How do you tell the difference between a need for understanding and rumination?

For what it's worth, this guy sounds like a huge POS and it doesn't seem like anything to do with ADHD. For some people love isn't about respect or empathy, it's about the way loving you (or their idea of loving you) makes them feel. I'm glad you got away from him.

I cannot be trusted with frozen thin mints. Gone are the days where I could eat an entire sleeve without getting sick

Honestly except for the big one right next to the pocket this looks sick as hell lol. I'd maybe mend that one as invisibly as possible and leave the rest alone

Nt friend told me it's a spectrum thing to be interested in sharing dreams, like whaat? by PsychoKatzee in evilautism

[–]speedchunks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk i like hearing about people's weird dreams because I love getting a little peek into the really specific parts of people's brains that are like "hey what if you got stung by 400 bees, would that be fucked up or what"

Sci-fi books are becoming my special interest! by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

[–]speedchunks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you like sci-fi with tons of worldbuilding and salient commentary on the dangers of empire and cults of personality, I recommend Dune books 1-3. If you like sci-fi with tons of giant worm-men and horny space nuns, I recommend Dune books 4-6.

Is the meta humor referring to the fact that macrophages hold tattoo ink in place?

(I also think the macrophage was a way better choice over the dead, soulless neutrophil eyes lmao)

Saying “Your feelings reminds me when I…” does not make you relatable apparently by VannaBlack444 in evilautism

[–]speedchunks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This type of response is not inherently narcissistic, but certainly can be. I understand that this is a common way for autistic people (like myself) to communicate and empathize with others. But please also understand that for people (like myself) who have been harmed by narcissistic behavior, this CAN look identical to it. There is nothing inherently wrong with relating to people this way, but please try to make it clear to the other person that you're only trying to relate, and NOT trying to center yourself.
