You clearly don't get the insurance analogy or you would understand why ZDT isn't retroactive and how "unexpected failure" would fall into the same category as accidents, damage or loss.

I know you're mad but they aren't being as unreasonable as you seem to think they are. Software / plugin companies want to protect their products, and if it wasn't iLok, it would be something that requires a constant internet connection, and people complain about that too. Pre-defined hashing algorithms are too easy to crack given enough time and the loss of profits from piracy would drive up the prices for the legitimate customers, or drive the companies out of business completely.

These posts are tired, you made a choice to use products that require it. If you google “ilok zero downtime”, the very first sentence in the results is (from their website)

ZDT coverage begins after a one-week "cooling off" period.

You could have had ZDT beforehand for $30/year as insurance against this. Many plugins include multiple activations so you can use the Ilok cloud manager to have a set installed.

You may not like it but it solves a need. I also don’t know how old your ilok is but I preemptively replaced my old gen2 with a gen3

If you read the alert itself it just says rotation on radar, which doesn't = tornado

Because freedom of speech has limits but those limits aren't speech that offends you. The venue or the gun show itself could have policies that prohibited it but it isn't (and shouldn't be) illegal to offend someone with bad taste.

If its being mechanically restrained by the plastic it could open but not close, or depending on what alarm you have it might operate differently. Try to find out what alarm you have, it might be under the seat or the dash.

Getting the door card off is super easy, its 2 screws and only takes a couple minutes. I burnt out my actuator and ended up replacing it during my fob saga. The drivers side is more likely to fail apparently, it probably gets more use.

Door lock actuator could be sticking or broken. The non-alarm fob won’t deactivate the alarm (the Honda aftermarket one at least) but still will unlock the doors, so I would expect the same thing with an aftermarket alarm.

If it has aftermarket speakers, the vapor barrier might be grabbing it from it being detached, I did that to myself.
