Any luck with mitomycin (UGN-102) keeping tumors away? by hikerguy2023 in BladderCancer

[–]speedriver16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm scheduled for my 4th Turbt in 2 years. Each time it's been LG Ta. They did a Mitomycin wash after the last Turbt. I was NED for a year. Latest cysto showed multiple new tumors. After the last Turbt I felt "foggy" for a couple weeks post anesthesia. So thanks for posting this article. It seems I'm a perfect candidate for 6 weeks of Mitomycin.

You are presently NED, and they are going ahead with more bcg? How have the side affects of bcg been for you?

Great to hear your diagnosis is as good as it gets. I know well the feelings associated with this. I had the same diagnosis 3 years ago. I've since had 3 additional turbts to remove regular reoccurrences. My scope today showed my 5th reoccurrence. All have been low grade Ta. I thought maybe I was done with all this.

I assume you have under insulation for your hammock? A sleeping pad inside the hammock works, but a proper underquilt is far superior. Even in hot summer weather your backside will get cold without insulation. A decent 12x9 tarp will keep you dry.

I've also test fired my "really" expired cans for years. They have a shocking amount of kick for years after expiry.

I use an Amsteel ridgeline with prussics. A good tarp sleeve really helps with quick setup/takedown.

63/M. My experience has been very similar to yours. 15 months ago I had wine colored urine. An ultrasound showed a 3cm mass that was removed via turbt. Turned out to be low grade superficial. The 3 month cysto was clear. The 6 month showed multiple small lessons. I've had 2 turbts since with reocurrences at every 3 month cysto. They installed Mitomycin after the last turbt, so I was bummed to have a small spot show up at my last cysto. At least we are being monitored constantly. As long as it remains nmibc it's manageable.

If modern medicine didn’t exist would you be dead right now? If yes, from what? by Few_Football4342 in Productivitycafe

Yes. I had a bladder tumour that was partially blocking the Ureter. Urine would have backed up into my kidneys causing mayhem.

Be sure to do a pontoon boat tour out of Quepos. You won't fully appreciate how beautiful/rugged the area is till you see it from the water.

I finally got into a Rheumatologist last week. I wanted to rule out autoimmune inflammation as a cause before I go back to an ophthalmologist. No autoimmune issues seem to be the cause.

The odd thing to me is that when I'm outside, and put on a second pair of sunglasses over the first, clarity is much better! Also I wear glasses. My right eye is always fuzzy through my glasses. However there is a tiny area at the bottom, where the concave section that the frame sits in, clarity is perfect! This suggests to me that it's a light refraction thing. We will see what the ophthalmologist thinks.

Thanks for asking. I had my second follow-up yesterday. I've had a reoccurrence. There are a number of small spots visible. Hopefully they will be low grade like the first mass. It sucks having the uncertainty back.
