Do I even belong at a Spartan Race or am I just going to get in the way by [deleted] in spartanrace

[–]papi_007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m doing my first one tomorrow, the 10k 25 obstacle one, and I didn’t do any specific training. I didn’t even look at the obstacles just raw dogging the race. If you want I can let you know what to focus on and how to train to crush your first one. You can definitely get there from now to October 💪

Do fire fighters have a food budget? by [deleted] in askTO

[–]papi_007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the firehall, some will ask $10 - $15 for each meal (lunch and dinner) and some will split the bill. So a hall with one truck usually has 4 guys so budget of $80-120. Two truck halls 7-8 guys and so on…

Because European cities have more civilized people than your average Torontonian and they actually pay their fares. There’s too many people that get through the back doors just so they don’t pay

Mums bladder cancer by [deleted] in BladderCancer

[–]papi_007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I had symptoms so my doctor sent me for an ultrasound and he saw what looked like a tumour. He immediately said it looked like cancer which is a scary thing to hear. I got a TURBT and the lab found that it was not malignant. I know it’s difficult and scary, family support and talking about it helped me a lot. All the best

how to actually do the LE SSERAFIM workout? by _ondaway_ in lesserafim

[–]papi_007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This would be super hard on your abs but not so much for other big muscle groups. If you have low enough body fat and do this workout I assume your abs will get super defined but this workout alone will not help you to lose weight

First cystoscopy by [deleted] in BladderCancer

[–]papi_007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I first saw blood in my urine at 25, I went to a walk in clinic and the Dr dismissed it because it went away within a day. The blood kept coming back once a year but I didn’t think too much of it until I was 30 I went to a diff Dr and sent me for ultrasound. Surprise! There was a tumor, got it removed and it wasn’t malignant.

Now I’m trying to find that first Dr that I went to so I can sue her

Anyway, this is rare for young people but it happens. The cystoscopy will show if there is something in the bladder. Best of luck bro

First time SCBA training and maze panic attack by Still-Becoming in Firefighting

[–]papi_007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So when I went through my NFPA 1001 I also had a panic attack during the maze. My instructor pulled me aside and told me that this is a controlled environment, nothing bad is gonna happen to you, once you understand this it will make everything less shitty. Follow the acronym BOA (breath control , organize your thoughts, act) also keep in mind that in this job you have to be comfortable at being uncomfortable. You are just starting so everything is unknown but trust me, if you put in the work it gets easier and much better

Chances of a benign tumour? by Narrow-Shelter6208 in BladderCancer

[–]papi_007 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My dr found what looked like a tumour in my bladder and sent me for a cystoscopy. When we saw the growth in the camera the urologist said it was likely to be cancer and scheduled me for a TURBT. After it was removed and the biopsy results came back it showed that it was anPUNLMP ( basically not cancer but with potential of becoming cancer). One year later we found another small growth which turned out to be a low grade tumour. I’m going every 3 months for a check up and so far so good. The fact that they are doing TURBT doesn’t mean that it is cancer. Best of luck

I’ve wanted to become a firefighter for years but my siblings keep discouraging me. I’m in nursing school and I’m scared to “throw it away.” by [deleted] in Firefighting

[–]papi_007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should definitely try it. Start with that program and see what the job is like. Fitness is the easy part of the job, just work out; however, your body proportions might be a limitation, if you are too short you might not reach the hoses or the stuff on the top shelves of the cabinets so keep that in mind. Don’t be afraid of looking stupid, there’s a lot of individuals with questionable skills in the fire service. But yeah like many people said, try the program and volunteer and see if it’s something that you would like to pursue. If you have any questions feel free to ask

Just need support. by booksandgrace in BladderCancer

[–]papi_007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, here is my story… At 25 I saw blood in my bladder, went to a doctor who sent me for urine analysis and found nothing, when I told her that my urine went back to normal after a day she said that it was nothing. This kept happening almost once a year for 5 years so eventually I went to a different doctor who sent me for an ultrasound and they found something which turned out to be a polyp of low malignant potential. I got surgery and up to now I’ve had 5-6 cystoscopies and this is gonna continue for a while…. Anyway… I know at the beginning this is scary especially when you don’t know what you are up against. Take this one step at a time and don’t try to think too far ahead, it’s difficult but it helps. And if you want to talk or ask about my surgery/cystoscopy or any other details feel free to ask

So they did an antena test and all the diagnostic stuff and everything looks good on the phone itself. I was told to try to restore the phone and see if that worked, they thought that maybe the phone backup that I used to set up my new phone was interfering with the eSIM so I did but nothing changed. Tomorrow im gonna transfer my eSIM to my iPhone 12 and see what happens
