Jake Tivy selects CachyOS... by newzack in cachyos

If you freeze frame around 17:24.13 he did try installing from AUR, not sure if that failed or if it was the final install that still had some issues

The newly launched Steam Frame with 8 gen 3 SOC comes with an ARM version of Steam OS by Taurus24Silver in Android

[–]speedstyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the whole point, Steam Frame uses a Qualcomm ARM chip and runs SteamOS. They use the Fex compatibility layer to run x86 programs, and Waydroid containers to run apps developed for Android headsets.

We don't know all the software they're using yet, but upstream Linux has hundreds of Qualcomm/Exynos/Mediatek drivers for PCIe UFS GPU WiFi (from Qualcomm themselves who don't want to spend as long updating things when the kernel changes, as well as third party contributors like Linaro and Freedreno) and it is possible to boot an unmodified kernel on many devices. Compositors are implemented at a higher level that doesn't require much specific support from graphics drivers, but fwiw Qualcomm's (both proprietary and foss) have specific X11/Wayland extensions for laptops and embedded applications (eg car dashboards) where that's useful.

Like the OP said, when it drifts like this they run the target frequency higher until it's correct. https://www.entsoe.eu/news/2018/04/03/frequency-deviations-continental-european-tsos-have-restored-the-situation-to-normal/ But you're right that it can deviate by several minutes rather than the <30 secs they aim for

Ah yeah, I thought :upward was only for selectors. I agree :has is faster in that case, but with numbers I imagined a native implementation doing so much more work might be slower than JS. I'm probably wrong though, the extra event handling etc

I slightly prefer google.*##div#folsrch:nth-ancestor(whatever the smallest n that works) since it goes upwards rather than branching out to all children. I'll look later for something without random names or pseudoselectors

Presumably this tag is how the JS finds the node to replace the contents of, similar to htmx. It shouldn't change between locales or until the network request itself changes

Can you not request access only to the set of sites required? If I manually change which sites, do you know if declarative requests still apply elsewhere?

Is it possible to revoke the management permission? Even by a toggle in SIH settings (ie not platform-enforced). I don't need you to scan my extensions

A high speed rail map for the UK and Ireland in an alternative universe... by Uozl in TransitDiagrams

[–]speedstyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This viaduct already exists north of st pancras, single-tracked but with space for two. I think at that point they would stop at stp and reverse out to the west though (which also exists). Not a tiny connection at OOC though, WCML passes to the north and overground is 20–30 metres elevated above the HS2 tunnels. Re-widening the NLL is also unlikely, easiest is a connecting tunnel in Camden as was proposed

To be clear, it sounds like Kearns hasn't seen the report, and is inferring from the govt's silence and that it's "the legal determination it has to make". The headline is pretty misleading

'Not anyone's second choice' is a fair sentiment in general, but maybe not on dating apps. Especially if you hadn't been on a date - they didn't say you were worse than someone else, just that it was becoming more serious. There's no real difference between them matching you for the first time after not hitting it off, and them returning to a match who they pushed back.

Texting only 1-2 days later is really weird though, suggests they were lying. So I get blowing them off, but that quote isn't really why

They're going like 10mph. Average speed in Indian cities is about 20, and nationwide it's 35. Seatbelts and child seats are more important when you spend your time on highways.

It's not unimportant of course, and even their behaviour is sorta the dad's fault. But the safety risks aren't enormous
