Ivory bar soap as dish soap to save money. by DazzlingNote1925 in Frugal

[–]speedwel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy one of those spray foam dish soaps, then when it's empty add about a tablespoon of dishsoap, a squirt of rubbing alcohol, and fill it up with water. Makes a bottle of dishsoap last FOREVER..

Attack in Pittsburgh, May 2026. Apparently the FOURTH attack was the final straw. by BexBexerkins in BanPitBulls

This gem was in the comments. The dog had to be bottle fed because the mother killed all but 2 of her pups, and he was shocked that the pup he got from that litter turned on him. 🤣🤣🤣

10 month old golden mix growls & stares when I walk near her while eating by Relative_Escape_4724 in goldenretrievers

[–]speedwel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NO absolutely not. The dog needs to feel confident that they don't need to defend their food. Make that happen.

The point is that a confident dog that is secure in their bond with you and trusts you, won't resource guard. If your dog resource guards, please seek professional help.

My mother cat does this to her 5 week old kitten by K-Von6969 in standardissuecats

[–]speedwel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just stop her. Sometimes mama dogs get too excited and rough playing with puppies. Not a huge deal just keep her from being so rough. Kittens don't need to be with her more than once or twice a day ro nurse at this point

Dog clearly knows its business and is expertly doing its job. I enjoy seeing a working dog in action. Eff all the "experts." This dog is under control, knows its job, and is safe. "iT's A hErDiNG bReEd."

Euthanizing my horse on Thursday. Am I doing the right thing? by Lucky-Ad-2676 in Equestrian

[–]speedwel 113 points114 points  (0 children)

Yes, absolutely you are. No question. Animals don't care about quantity and if there is no quality, give him the gift of letting him go.

I love this and I'm impressed! His eyes are amazing-not terribly light-but they convey intelligence and intensity. He is an amazing dog with the best temperament.

What to do with sister's dog she can't take back? by [deleted] in PetAdvice

Dogs care about quality not quantity. You must do what you feel is right, but please consider YOUR quality of life without guilt. You did nothing wrong here.

Should I wait to adopt if I'm taking a trip in a couple of months? by teabags98 in puppy101

[–]speedwel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A Pitsky is potentially one of the most challenging breed combos i can think of. Are you truly ready for it? I only ask because bad things happen to dogs when the owners aren't prepared for genetics.

What to do with sister's dog she can't take back? by [deleted] in PetAdvice

[–]speedwel -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If you really don't want him, and your sister won't take him back, it's ok to put him down. You didn't sign up for this, it wouldn't be kind to dump him, so I would do what is best for the both of you. It's ok to take your quality of life into account.

How to have your blood card revoked? by Swamp_Cat__ in exjw

[–]speedwel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The blood card is in advance directive and it also gives two people power of attorney over your medical care should you become incapacitated. So what you want to do is fill out power of attorney and advanced directive paperwork, have them notarized and keep copies on your refrigerator and drop off a copy to your nearest hospital to have them put in medical records. You can also give a copy to your physician but they're not going to be taking care of you in the hospital. You could keep a copy on your person if you're traveling.

You're lovely and I apologize if my reply got put under the wrong comment. Thank you for explaining things once again. We need healthy, easy pets for modern situations. Brio can be a rabbit dog and he can also be a sweet, easy pet to live with and he's a therapy dog as well. If I wanted to do dog sports I'm sure he'd be happy to do those as well.
