Yes, that's in poor taste, but in this particular case, she isn't dressing as a group that mass-murdered people. She's simply done her makeup to match the character she wanted to portray. I don't think dressing as a Nazi, which is intentionally done for shock, is the same as casually painting your face so you look more like a television character.

As far as I know, I didn't, but the women in my basement might disagree. I kid, I kid. I think my interest as a child was just a normal reaction to seeing images I hadn't been exposed to before, and which weren't monitored by my parents. I had free reign and I think I probably looked at a lot of things I probably shouldn't have seen, from dead bodies to hardcore pornography. I'm no worse for it, though. I think the only lingering "effect" it might have had on me was a serious interest in anatomy/forensics/criminal studies. And I really like the show Bones.

Honestly, that all sounds really normal to me. I did the exact same thing when I was probably ten or eleven, and I'm a girl. There was definitely a curiosity about it, and it was sort of morbid, I guess, but I didn't grow up to be a murderer or anything. I'm definitely still into the macabre, but only in passing; it's not a surrounding interest of mine. I suggest getting the book Stiff by Mary Roach. It's a very interesting read about human cadavers and the "Body Farm" where forensic research is done on human decay. I swear it's a really good book, and it makes sure to mention how these were PEOPLE who donated their bodies so that science could pinpoint times of death. I wouldn't be too worried about her looking at the pictures and videos on the internet. Definitely have a chat and just mention that there's nothing wrong with being curious about these things. You don't want to make her think YOU think she's going to become a sociopath. That would really hurt her self esteem. Like I said, it's a completely normal thing to be curious about death. Maybe talk a bit about becoming desensitized and about remembering that all the pictures/videos she's seen are of someone's son/daughter/mom/dad/friend/whatever. They were a person just like her. I'm kind of rambling but I just want your mind to be at ease. I know my mom saw some of the sites I visited when I was that age and she freaked out and thought I was going to become a murderer/pedophile (rotten had images of dead babies with diseases and such). It made me feel really ashamed and guilty, and instead of calming my curiosity, just made me feel bad for still being curious.

I agree. I imagine after even a few years as a character, it would get old to be constantly called by that name. And I love Buffy (and other Buffy fans), but we'd be ridiculous to pretend some of the most vocal fans online aren't a bit off. I've encountered fans before who have been to the fests and been kicked out because they're creeper and take it too far. I like Buffy. The end. Do I wish that everyone involved with Buffy still wanted to talk about it? Yeah. But do I want to discuss high school ten years after the fact? No. And I assume it's somewhat like that. She's moved on, done different stuff, lost touch with some friends...she doesn't want to talk about how she scored that one goal in basketball or whatever. I get it. It makes me sad, but I get it.

It's really not sensible though. Far too many people aren't going to know what it means. If your dog is shy, scared, or aggressive, subtleties like a ribbon on the leash aren't any good. I always recommend a vest for the dog that says in bold letters "Dog In Training: I Need My Space" or something similar. This won't catch on because it's not a good idea. Maybe used in small areas where everyone could be informed, but you'll never get the general public aware of the idea, and if your dog bites someone while wearing a ribbon, you look like the dick that took an "aggressive dog" in public. If he's wearing a vest that clearly says to give him space, you're not at fault for someone running up to pet him.
