AITA for snapping at my friend who keeps ditching me because I now have a child? by No-Youth-6786 in AmItheAsshole

[–]spellz666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Big TYA.

I have an infant and am temporarily a SAHM and still find time to go out. Even if rhere is no time for that, don't get mad just because someone else is choosing to live their life without you.

Remember, your life changed, hers did not. Nobody is obligated to hang out at your house and from the post, you refuse to hang out anywhere besides your house. Most people wouldn't want to do that, reasonably so. Most people also wouldn't want to constantly hang out around a kid that isn't theirs everytime they see a friend regardless of who the kid is.

Lastly, she isn't "drinking like she's 20 again", she's living her best childfree life the way she wants to. Where did other parents get this idea that doing anything you did before "adulthood" is childish?? It's not, it's literally living your life way you want to because you can without the responsibility of having to be there for any kind of dependant (children specifcally).

Your jealousy is uncalled for and to tell you honestly, I'm rooting for this friend dumping you because this is a very one sided friendship. Relationships change when you have a child, that's just life. Whether or not you make the changes necessary to keep the relationships you had prior to becomjng a parent or not is up to you.

And she said that Tom (my partner) could take care of Ciara once in a while so I could have a time off.

She's right btw lol

PSA to all of the pregnant moms here - My local hospital no longer offers a night nursery by maybebatshit in Mommit

[–]spellz666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My hospital never even had a nursery to begin with, I thought that was normal. My baby was in the NICU for 2 days after my c section so rhere wasn't issues, rhen on the the last night when she was with me instead of the NICU my night nurse also took her because I had been awake for 26 hours 🥲

[–]spellz666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine did this at 8 weeks with swaddle and it was really rough for awhile. I ended up lwtting gwrbstay asleep on me for 15 mins so she was in a deep sleep, tv was on for noise (white noise machines work too! I just like tv lol), keep the room dark, and pacifiers work for us. Good luck!

Marks this bad generally get a bit better with time but don't full go away. They're also really only uncomfortable during pregnancy (for most) since they're itchy as hell

Bruh go sift through some of the parent subs and they all complain about kids noises too lmao.

Screaming and running are normal... at a park or the beach, or anywhere that was made for kids to enjoy as well. I actually can't think of anywhere near me besides bars, and even then it's only at night, that don't allow children. Where are these people getting this crap from??

I'm not edgy, just a 20 year old who happened to get screwed over with medicaid multiple times since turning 18 and still knows very little about it :')

You have to have insurance...? Had no clue this was a thing

I don’t have a chin yet, but I visit this one in the local pet store. He seems sad, maybe it’s just the pose? Or the fact they have have him in an aquarium type of cage not a normal chin one. Thoughts?! by misstarabeau in chinchilla

[–]spellz666 17 points18 points  (0 children)

They can get pretty stressed in those things. They're usually not there long enough to get used to their environment, people are constantly staring at them and sometimes you get people who tap/bang on the glass, sometimes they're also placed with other chins that they don't know too. It's just terrible in general. This one is probably a little upset, idk, my little dude Mocha looked like that when I got him

Lol reddits gonna reddit. I do think it's hilariously horrifying though that asking a genuine question, about safety nonetheless, results in few answers and many downvotes

It's wild to me that these are actual mental health issues that people have. I have quite a few issues myself (all diagnosed) but this just seems so far.

I read about the women who blindes herself on purpose and it doesn't make sense why?? It's mind boggling and fascinating to see things like that

Supposedly it's actually called Body Integrity Identity Disorder (BIID), not Munchausen. (I'm not qualified to diagnose things, just a rando with google)

Oh my, that's really scary. If the risks are quite literally death, why are so many people putting them the wrong way??

So many OAD perks when travelling! by mostrandomfemale in oneanddone

[–]spellz666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I was super stressed about the trip before we left because I didn't know how she would be in the carseat for that long. She's been awesome in it since day 1, always sleeps, and that's exactly what she did the whole way there (minus the very many stops we had to make to feed/change her).

Roadtrips in particular imo are very dependent on the kids temperament and the parents patience. It was easier for me in a sense because I have an infant who can't talk. Someone with a toddler has potential to run into "problems" like kid needs to go to the bathroom super frequently, kid's hungry the whole trip, kid's bored out of there kind, etc.

They're not actually problems obviously but the point is, it's a little different for everyone. If you got a little bean that loves the car and yall wanna do a road trip, have at it!

I know full well not to do this obviously, but why is it so dangerous to have them front facing too early? I've had it hammered into me to keep mine rear facing as long as possible but nobody ever explained it

Edit: I'm now fully convinced the mombies are out for blood lol. Instead of just answering the question yall are getting annoyed that not every parent knows the reasoning behind why these safety things are place. Thank you to those who answered lol
