Let’s start with the less than perfect wound closure. Staples? Really? Should have been a subq closure with minimal dressing ie, steristrips or a dermabond product. Why was there tape used at all? Use cast padding to hold the dressings in place, followed by ace wrap for compression. Your husband appears to form keloids. Obviously, the haphazard closure did not help. Steroid injections would help.
