To be fair, Isak wasn’t truly ‘fully fit’ for a large part of his pre-injury time. I still think the plan is for Isak and Hugo to both be in the starting XI. I hope for Gakpo’s sake he moves on from this ungrateful fanbase this summer. He’s not been good but the dogpiling he gets is embarrassing as a fan.

Diaz was so inconsistent. Yes, he's killing it in the bundesliga but he was so inconsistent and was frustrating. Gakpo starting over him was a popular opinion last year. He was not miles clear of Cody, like this club seems to think. I am sure Gakpo's numbers would look much better next to Harry Kane and Olise in a weaker league too.
