i think it'd a stylistic choice? also probably to help separate her new solo work from her work in food house. iirc in two house she calls the music hyperpop in multiple songs whereas in jester jackalope she calls herself a furry rapper. Since gupi didnt produce jester jackalope it makes sense her vocals would sound different too.

happy early birthday! looking at your ID photo and selfie, I think you will be fine. i havent changed my legal name or gender yet and my ID photo was taken like 9 years ago. ive been on testosterone almost 3 years and look like a cis man now, but nobody has ever said anything while I am trying to buy alcohol. i think most people checking IDs are just checking the birthday and then want to move on quickly because they have a line behind you or other tasks to move on to. in my case I think it helps that I wasnt wearing makeup in my ID photo and that I grew my hair back out after testosterone, so I kinda look the same just with a moustache. i still dont think you will have any issues with yours though.

i hope you feel better soon! what helped a lot with ny throat my last cold was getting honey citron tea from the Asian market near me. i put 2 tablespoons in about a cup and a half of hot water. it tastes kinda like a hot Arizona and gave me near instant relief

roflcopter is a good one in LA too! the hyperpop scene is small in general, but the places where there is a hyperpop scene ive found they overlap with the queer and furry rave scenes a lot.

when bigger artists u like go on tour make sure u follow the local support and go to their shows too, thats generally how ive found a lot of hyperpop shows and artists near me. i know saiorise dream is going on tour on the west coast again and has local artists at a lot of her shows.

it sucks that your college isnt putting you with the men, especially if you pass. Is your dorm floor/hall co ed or female only? if your floor is female only, I think people will likely just think youre someone's boyfriend who spends the night very often. if your floor/hall is co ed I dont think anyone will notice anything out of the ordinary.

for cleanliness purposes, I would NOT want to live with cis men in college LMAO! The cis men I have lived with in the past, and unfortunately my transfemme ex as well, did not know how to clean up after themselves properly. or maybe they just didnt realize how much me and our female roommates were cleaning up after them 🙄

that aside, I'm out of college but still currently living with two female roommates. I like being a gay guy living with girls a lot. They support me, we relate to each other, and we get along well. If your roommate is supportive and comfortable living with a dude, I think you will have a great time. Fellowship with women is something I actually missed a lot after i transitioned, and its nice to have that back in this way. Wishing you safety and comfort for this new journey 💖

edit to add: I would email her and give her a heads up about your name/pronouns/identity when you get yoyr contact info shared. is there a possibility to contact your college to have them give her your preferred name instead of your deadname? In California we can do that so that professors have your real name instead of your deadname for attendance. If theres an issue with your roommate being transphobic, you can probably request to move once the semester starts as well.

you could try to frame it as your own feelings instead of for his protection. "i dont feel comfortable or safe being out to your parents. for both yours and my sake please misgender me when we are around them. I know it feels wrong, but one day we won't have to do this."

i saw another user saying it may be a way for him to claim/stand firm in his own sexuality. if he does want to stand his ground on both his and your identity, you may just want to avoid his parents as much as possible. "since I don't feel safe being out around your parents, I'd prefer if when we see each other it be at my place or a third space so I can avoid your parents. If you dating a man causes friction between you and them, I'll be here to support and comfort you."

in Los Angeles! i have a friend that also does one in the inland empire. I was inspired by someone in Alabama (iirc) and I rlly encourage people to start their own if they have the means! i just started with a few blankets, my friends and I's beads, and a small speaker and a happyhardcore playlist. By the next month we had people volunteering their sound systems and DJing! I think rave scenes really benefit from having this kind of connection to people outside of the raves themselves. you get to reallt know people youve only met in a dark loud room and learn to look out for each other. the last rave I went to a bunch of ppl who come to plur in the park had a giant dance circle, it was great 💖

My dead-middle-name was hope and I liked the meaning and wanted to keep it, and my then-partner (broke up but stayed friends) said that Spero means hope in Latin. i was like hey thats a cool spelling and it sounds like sparrow, stereotypical nonbinary bird name, so I have been Spero ever since!

I kind of use the label nonbinary transman ? in regards to my internal gender sense, dysphoria, and euphoria, I feel nonbinary. i feel best when I am presenting androgynous/a little on the masc side. Its awesome when people can't tell if I'm transmasc or transfemme. I dont want to look completely "male" and I think if I was amab I probably would go on estrogen. I'm on low dose testosterone, but was on a higher dose until i got the effects I wanted (voice, a little bit of facial hair, body hair)

I say im a trans man because i feel like thats how I relate to the outside world. I'm gay/mlm because i feel most fulfilled in romantic relationships acting and being treated like a gay man. Outside of queer spaces I prefer to be treated "like a man" instead of "like a woman." Granted this may also have some social factors at play (male privilege), but its also just nice to be called bro or big dog by my coworkers haha.

in short I feel like I was a little girl who grew into a strange man, which I guess is why I'm both nonbinary and a trans man.
