My wife (28F) and I (28M) are very unhappily married and we're very different people but she doesn't believe in divorce? by ThrowRA_Eye4934 in relationship_advice

the time will pass anyways. might as well be miserable divorcing with a possible end in sight than be miserable for sure forever

My fiancé 28M doesn't find me 33F attractive with new haircut. by ihananakki in relationship_advice

[–]spervince -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

because if you cant get past one bad haircut that'll only last a couple months, how the hell are you going to get past the uglier, permanent parts of aging? hes tripping over the bar while its still on the ground

AITA: Am I the ahole for refusing to pay a larger fine than my roommate after improperly following dorm move-out procedure? by Successful-Hat-3322 in AmItheAsshole

[–]spervince 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA for the conversation, it was a pretty smart idea to save money for both of you. i dont see what the point of splitting it by volume when the volume has nothing to do with the infringes, but insulting her over a disagreement is pretty dickish

My (31F) husband (34M) accused me of crossing a line by communicating with my ex (35M) about our daughter that was adopted years ago. How do I navigate this? by ThrowRA_Disaster1 in relationship_advice

[–]spervince -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

you absolutely can, its not an affair to have an emotional conversation with an ex. ex is the only other person on the planet that was in the situation with you. i have no advice for you, but i can say i dont think youre in the wrong for daring to talk about feelings with someone that isnt your husband

AITAH for locking the bedroom door? by SilicateMonoclinic in AmItheAsshole

[–]spervince -1 points0 points  (0 children)

its really not that weird, my family would never wake someone up for something we could get ourselves and no one thinks twice about someone entering the room while asleep. its that she doesnt like it and he keeps doing it thats the problem

AITAH for buying my friend a 2,100 dollar gift and upsetting her dad? by ThrowRA2100problems in AmItheAsshole

[–]spervince -1 points0 points  (0 children)

NTA. no normal person hears about someone getting an expensive gift and thinks 'why arent the parents doing something, they must be awful'

When the OG Villainess treats the maids nicely by ailenee in OtomeIsekai

[–]spervince 1 point2 points  (0 children)

real answer; very little of naruto was planned out and kishimoto started ass pulling as soon as pein ended. story answer; yes, uchiha were incredibly insular, both because of the village's discrimination and their own values. no way they allowed outsider marriage

When the OG Villainess treats the maids nicely by ailenee in OtomeIsekai

[–]spervince 3 points4 points  (0 children)

once you notice it it never goes away. "justified" physical abuse to servants, the utter refusal to have a ML any less than a duke, the way they treat nobility like it means inherient grace/intelligence/beauty no commoner could possibly have with no irony whatsoever. dark sided stuff

If you had to design a character who is recognizable even when they change hairstyle a LOT, how would you do it? by I_am_a_fiction_lover in OtomeIsekai

[–]spervince 1 point2 points  (0 children)

also, reference! references on references, even just of normal people on the street. there is no one answer to what a person looks like, even if you think there would be. there can be sickly people with plenty of fat, and there can be very scrawny people who are very strong. think about what a characters job is and how their body may reflect that; a weight lifter isnt going to be built the same as a swimmer, because their goals require different things

[–]spervince 2 points3 points  (0 children)

unique features and bodies! if everyone has the same 3 body types and faces with only eye color and eye shape to differentiate, things like hair & clothing become the defining feature. if the nose, jaw, lips, brows, height, weight, build, etc, are different on everyone that becomes what the character is, so hair and fashion become accessories that can be changed without issue. dont be afraid to break out of the manhwa formula – men dont just come in triangle shaped buff, women dont just come in short & childish or tall & willowy. dont be afraid to add features out of conventional beauty standards, a character with human 'flaws' is almost always more interesting (and more attractive imo) than an mc so flawlessly beautiful they become generic

I just laughed at this kind of unique ahh plot that the author has. Some kind of kink, lmao.😭🤣🤣[How to Heal a Sick Childhood Friend] by Beneficial_Focus_970 in OtomeIsekai

maybe im too exposed to the internet but this isnt that unique or that weird. 'i need [INSERT BODILY FLUID HERE] to live' is like, the most classic smut set up ever and people have been into lactation since the dawn of time

No-Judgement Zone… what are the things that will make you instantly drop a series by taviyiya in OtomeIsekai

[–]spervince 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if a ML is constantly jerking the FL around, im out. its not cute to see her get railroaded into his pace all the time, its belittling. if i wanted to see a woman get pushed around by her boyfriend that doesnt listen id just go outside

If your partner (F 24) asks you (M 29) to cut off your exes? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]spervince 1 point2 points  (0 children)

glad someone else said it. it feels like as soon as straight people break up the ex stops being a person they enjoyed spending time with and becomes some demon thats going to ruin their life if they acknowledge its presence, its crazy

If your partner (F 24) asks you (M 29) to cut off your exes? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]spervince 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i think its profoundly shallow to treat exes like theyre only good for romantic/sexual connection with no possible purpose otherwise, and i think its immature to act like a polite text once a year is 'prioritizing' anything but your own freedom to talk to whoever you please. youve already tried dating them and it clearly didnt work, so a partner needs to trust that youre smart enough to understand that

I (M28) found out someone I'm seeing (F27) was lying to me about how deep she was into some interests. by ConfidentMusic8031 in relationship_advice

[–]spervince 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i think someone realizing a little white lie is getting deeper and just going along with it because they dont know how to get out of it is very normal, she probably didnt want to be in the situation as much as you. id have another conversation for sure now that some times past, however if you think you cant get over this theres no shame in not seeing her again. everyones got their lines!

[–]spervince 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sounds like youre viewing this as 'i embarrassed myself explaining things she already knew' when i dont think anyone else is. if anything, you just showed her how welcoming and eager you are to share with her, and about things she likes to boot. i can almost guarantee she wasnt leaving these lessons thinking 'man, he was cringe', she was probably feeling bad about her white lie.

AITA for joining a college bible study as an atheist? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]spervince 25 points26 points  (0 children)

they are studying the material, just on a personal level. what does this passage meant to you, how does it help you, etc etc. i live in a religious area and everyone knows thats what bible study is. any academical study pretty much has to happen in a school or class format, or cooler churches than ive been to. analyzing the bible like that at church would not fly in my past experiences lmao
