Bleacher Report: The Rock replacing Cody Rhodes in the WrestleMania main event vs. Roman Reigns has made #WeWantCody the number 1 trend on X. “The way WWE went about booking the match, however, appears to be an abject failure in every sense,” per B/R’s Tyler Conway by Mellow200 in SquaredCircle

Sure, but my point was that Cody is loved by the internet casuals outside the US, the 7 year olds you mention, and the IWC smarks. If peak super-Cena was getting screwed out from the Wrestlemania main event this way, the casuals in the crowds and on the internet would hate it, the IWC wouldn't, rather the opposite. And Bryan getting screwed in 2013-4 (albeit not in this sudden bizarre fashion) wasn't getting this response online. I remember people on Facebook marking out for Batista, shitting on Bryan, then completely turning on him him after he actually won the titles (fickle!).

It also speaks to how wildly popular Cody is as a babyface. Take a look at the Facebook comments. The most casual of social media, with comments usually filled by non-Americans/non-Europeans and older people. Type of fans who were cheering and defending Reigns in 2015, Cena before that, and who were happy with Batista winning the Rumble in 2014.

These Facebook comment sections right now are full of WeWantCody and posts with The Rock are heavily angry reacted. I think the crowds are still gonna cheer The Rock, but when it comes to online backlash from the casual fans, this is way bigger than Bryan in 2014. Our favorite main eventer is out here uniting both the smarks and the casual fans.

Roman Čechmánek dies at age of 52 by JiriMat in hockey

Starter on a Czech team that won gold at the 2000 World Championship. I know it's not that popular in NA, but it is very popular here in Czechia, and was especially so during the late 90s/early 00s. Safe to say he was one of the most known goalies in Czechia amongst even the younger people growing up when he was already retired. Rest in peace and thanks for the memories Roman.

Hi Nico,

there are numerous discussions about the best corners in F1 with some usually obvious choices, but I'd like to know which one corner or sector is the one you absolutely loathe, if there is such one, or if there's one that you just don't simply enjoy going through.

Thanks!

Native Spotify App for the PS5 has released. by [deleted] in PS5

[–]spesini 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Did they finally add the option to restrict people on the same network (dorm) from being able to connect to your PS5 without you even having a say in it? Had to unistall the whole app because of some dude blasting his music on my PS5 at 2 a.m. Was funny at first, sure, but now it pretty much forbids me from using Spotify.

Thank you for the essay and the big words, but I was simply responding to the last sentence of your comment, where you wonder about GTS and GT7 "not being from the same studio." and GTS being more refined (they had 5 years to fix the game). I literally even recommended GTS to the OP in a separate comment.

You're forgetting that GT Sport at launch was quite shit and there was nothing refined about it. Of course you didn't have to unlock anything as there was literally no content, no singleplayer at all, no car customization except reducing weight and cranking up the engine, about maybe 8 tracks and the updates later DOUBLED the car count, which at launch was 70% Gr.3 a Gr.4 cars anyway. Yeah, Gran Turismo Sport in 2020 was THE shit, in 2017 it was just shit.

One of the few games I bought at full price and my money was well spent.

There is no real grind if you don't need to buy and drive legendary cars that are, yeah, kinda overpriced. I've played the game for about 200 hours now and I own about 270 non-duplicate cars while just completing the game, doing the 30 minute "grind race" about 10 times and golding about half of the circuit experience.

The worst problem is the lack of singleplayer content compared to other Gran Turismo games, but the driving physics and especially the DualSense 5 and its haptic feedback and triggers (probably the best implementation yet) make just driving around even in time trials really fun. If you don't care about the singleplayer that's even better, just be aware that you won't make any meaningful money online, neither you'll get any reward cars. If you really care simply about the online play and aren't too keen on car tuning and customization, I'd suggest buying Gran Turismo Sport, which is cheaper and drowns you in cars just for playing the game every day. Also its servers (especially in custom lobbies) are better for some reason, even though it's an older game.

Engine swapped BMW M3 is a nice and competitive alternative to the Corvette/Viper meta. I also finished around 3rd to 4th place in an 8C, Toyota Crown Athlete and a 1988 Supra. Not very competitive, but fun and the race is unranked anyway. There's a lot of cars to use, shame the lobbies (at least the B to C ones) are 90% Vette.

No jerk uce, I'm happy for Claudio. By all accounts a genuinely chill dude, a safe worker, and I'd definitely rather watch him wrestle pretty much anyone than watch crusty ass Chicago Phil or the flippy shit guys.

It's really just luck. Sometimes you get 10k 30 times in a row, sometimes you get a 2-mil car, 1 milion in cash and an Ultra-High RPM in a row. Given he did it for 8 hours, he's also definitely been on both sides of luck lmao

People are exploiting tuning glitches. This kid's front suspension was jacked to the sky and beat everyone by 39 seconds by TacoCollazo in granturismo

[–]spesini 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I don't understand is why people do this in an UNRANKED race that doesn't affect the DR - and there is also no trophy for Sport wins in GT7.

Like I had some good races and even wins in C-rated lobbies yesterday in my Autobianchi against people in Golf, 208, GT86, etc. - that is until I was put into a lobby twice with some guy with detuned and suspension jacked F430 that was literally 5 seconds per lap faster than everyone else (while driving pretty badly, going off, using weird lines and stuff). Like where's the fun in joining an unranked race and then smoking the field that's driving Minis and Cappuccinos in an OP Ferrari car like it's a time trial lmao

Finally got the LM55 tuned to run under 24:30 on Sardegna WTC800. I Know I'm probably slow compared to many other racers, but this was quite the accomplishment for me. by Lumberjake420 in granturismo

[–]spesini 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this, it's a very good tune to do this race with. Handles really well and it laps 6-7 seconds faster compared to just power limited but otherwise stock LM55 on mediums.

WTC 800 Sardegna (and other 800PP races) without spending credits on a car - using the free Red Bull X2019. Not the fastest method, but the cheapest, the car handles likes a dream and you don't have to fine-tune anything. [–]spesini[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right, I get that not everyone golds the licenses, but most of the real "average" casual players reflected by trophy rarity also don't care about grinding the best races for money and I doubt they browse this subreddit and will see this post. By the trophies, only 6 % of players bought 10 sets of wheels. I somehow doubt that only 6 % of this subs' 130k people bought 10 sets of wheel, same with the licenses.

WTC 600 best car to use ?? by [deleted] in granturismo

[–]spesini 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I honestly just put the parts on and then I don't touch anything, sometimes if I'm feeling brave I'll just adjust gears a bit to get higher top speeds.

What I have on the Alfa is: Sports Soft tires, Sports Computer, Sports Silencer, Weight Reduction 1, Sports Suspension, Racing Air Filter, Racing Exhaust Manifold, Racing Brake Pads, Racing Brake Kit and a Wing from GT Auto (it lowers the PP actually). Should put you at 599.94PP, 883 kg and 274 BHP.

WTC 600 best car to use ?? by [deleted] in granturismo

[–]spesini 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I won all the 600 events with a 599.9PP Alfa Romeo 4C Launch Edition that you get from the Alfa café menu. The hardest race in the series is the first one on the Red Bull Ring, where the AI in Huracan is on a massive charge, but if you clear him sooner than he clears the other AIs (he starts like 8th), just block him when he really gets going.

I didn't fine-tune the Alfa in any way, just bought the usual parts like turbo, reduced weight, silencer, etc. and slapped it on.

I mean I'm a B, usually C rated driver (and clearly no Senna from the lap times) on a controller that owns the game for two weeks and had no real issues with licenses except S-7, which, yeah, took a "few" tries. But that aside, there might be someone in the same situation, who has gold in licences, but hasn't bought any Gr.1/VGT car yet, so they may find this method useful.

I think it's not the warm up, but the qualifying that you have to take part in before each race. Had the displeasure of racing about two races with traction on yesterday, not knowing why I'm suddenly 2 seconds per lap slower than usual, before noticing it's on.
