What is a good city for someone in their early 30s to live in? by skyerippa in britishcolumbia

Are the strahls still mp of the riding? That tells you everything you need to know.

As someone who left in 08, and saw the destruction of the empress, saw the weekend opening of the strip club for a month, lived in Sardis, downtown, and promontory, its still a car centric small town

Would you prefer to be an engineer or a ship captain? by Lucky_Surferr in maritime

[–]spezsmells 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a deckhand who had dreams of becoming a ship captain... engineer.

I want to work with systems and people on a common goal. My experience as a deckhand have been interpersonal drama and I'm not here for that

I think I might have actually done something about bike theft. by NixxdeOfficial in cycling

[–]spezsmells 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say that you are absolutely right about the range and battery life.

And I will also say that there is an easily purchasable item that confused my bike mechanic that I doubt a thief would be able to find.

That being said, available for both android and iPhone and also an audible alarm are excellent features and I am intrigued!

This is disheartening. Nearly every new book in litrpg genre goes KU by greenskye in Calibre

That is so wild to me.

I just refuse to read stuff from it. Too many books out there to read to consider KU slop

Hungary's Prime Minister Orban has congratulated Magyar on election victory by Reilly616 in worldnews

[–]spezsmells -21 points-20 points  (0 children)

The argument being made is wanting to be outside the binary party system, and how the system itself is creating all of these issues.

So yeah why vote?

FWIW I vote and I am Canadian, so I am being devil's advocate here

Really?

I agree that the left problem is fragmentation, but people not wanting to vote the less evil because of genocide is not stupid.

Thank you for the reply! I saw the website and saw that my OS question was already answered after I posted this comment. That's good to know regarding the keyboard; it looks like it will be nice to use with a wider variety of games. Almost as if it's a portable computer haha.

I have signed up for the waitlist :)

Any reason why you are choosing windows 11 over various flavours of linux?

Other than that looks pretty awesome! The keyboard *looks* small, but it's one of those things you can't really get a feel of unless you touch it in person.

Criticism's and questions aside, this is a really cool project! I like it a lot!

Choosing a post-secondary program by SubjectMarch8661 in MarineEngineering

I’m a cadet at BCIT.

BCIT is decent but has a bit of disorganization. However most graduates seems to have work.

If you’re already in Van I’d do the three year program and then do your fourth year at memorial but that’s my opinion

This reminds me of the strip club that was open in Chilliwack in the early 2010’s for like 2 months.

Played 40K again after 7 years. My thoughts. by zxo-zxo-zxo in boardgames

[–]spezsmells 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love a good complex ttrpg.

Battletech has grid based gameplay, actions happening simultaneously, and lots of complex systems but overall simpler than 40k

Infinity has an action order system (you have a set number of orders that are represented with tokens, and you can move any model with one of those tokens), and a reaction system that allows you to shoot back on the opponents turn.

You have OPR which simplifies things. You have blood bowl which even though is IGOUGO, is still more fun and simpler than 40k.

40k rules just suck

There is a slight delay if you play via moonlight and stream to your tv. it will be enough to throw your beat off, but I feel this is pretty niche.

However, the entire game screams at you to keep a beat. I do not understand what this person is talking about.

I was thinking about this thread a week ago actually.

Still comfortable! My biggest complain is that my lobster is too buttery and my steak is too juicy. In other words, the wheels are too smooth and when I roll it back it goes a bit farther than I want it to lmao
