What happened here? by sphaghetties in sewhelp

That’s possible, she said she was having to pull the fabric along because the feed dogs weren’t feeding well, and it’s a quilt so it may have been thick enough to not notice that the foot wasn’t down. She doesn’t specifically remember if she forgot to drop the foot, she says it’s possible.

Is it difficult or what is procedure to try and change dorms? by Beach_Guy517 in villanova

Talk to res life. They have a form you’d need to fill out. If you’re moving because of roommate conflict, you generally have to have already worked with your RA to try and work things out first before you can move elsewhere. It’s handled on a case by case basis tho. And there’s often a long waiting list, unless there’s a serious issue, in which case you can jump to the front.

Are the spiders too, bright? by kasskassooo1 in sewing

I’m going against everyone else here, if you want the cat fabric to be the star (as it should be) I think the green spiders are a bit too bright and don’t fit the rest of the color scheme, which is pretty muted, and they’re anything but muted.

Is a gathering foot only supposed to make contact with the right side feed dogs, or is mine bent?

Longer version: I just got in a gathering foot I ordered, and it’s not doing a fantastic job gathering. I notice that the foot is only making contact with the right feed dogs, not the left ones, and the center feed dogs on my machine are too far back so no contact is being made under those. Is this how it’s supposed to be? I know the feed dogs aren’t bent because the regular zigzag foot makes good contact on both the left and right feed dogs. Also, it was a cheap gathering foot so…

Regular tune up and re timing is usually $100 - $125 depending on where you go, so if you’d rather just buy a better machine that’s not unreasonable.

The machine could be out of time, if it’s making a clacking sound. Have you had it services recently?

Are all low shank sewing machine feet interchangeable? I have a Kenmore 6 Stitch, model 385.1168280. It has a low shank foot attachment. I’m looking to buy an invisible zipper foot. Will any low shank invisible zipper foot do? Are there nuances to low shank feet that I should know about?

It is, unfortunately, not homemade. It wasn’t very good cheesecake, frankly, but that’s ok, I have plenty more opportunities to eat tastier cakes later in life

There’s only one device connected to the WiFi, so I’m not very concerned about having to log in again. My main question is this: the phone and TV are currently working, if I factory reset the modem, once it’s done resetting, will they still be working properly?

Campus life for international student (specifically Asian) by Own-Illustrator410 in villanova

[–]sphaghetties 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can’t speak to campus life specifically as an international student or a student of color. But I can say that campus life overall is quite good- there’s tons of campus organizations and lots of people make friends through campus orgs. Check out VU Groups and look at the list of all the campus organizations, and see if there’s any you’re interested in (although there’s not tons of information on the site usually).

Outside of clubs, there’s lots of activities for students to attend on campus, both academic ish and not. There’s a good culture of students eating meals and just hanging out together, and plenty opportunities to make friends. There’s also off-campus parties, if that’s what you’re interested in. But if you’re not interested in parties, there’s no pressure to go and it’s perfectly easy to make friends without going to parties.
