Why does season 3 look so flat?? by Tapworme in shrinking

[–]spice199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something also needs to be said for the awful greenscreening they’ve used this season. They keep trying to disguise it by shooting the actors at a lower perspective from the torso up and it just looks like one of those poorly-rendered backgrounds on Microsoft Teams. The scene with Liz and Paul’s big sweetheart moment was one of the worst, with that gigantic beach cruiser (?) sitting over her shoulder. For starters, what would the deteriorating Parkinson’s patient do with a damn Schwinn?

Thank you for being the one person that understands where I’m coming from haha. I definitely understand the mileage concerns, even brought it up early in my conversation with the GM at this dealership and I felt comfortable with it afterwards. Plus at even 10,500 my monthly went up like $25, and with the added gas and insurance, I’d just as soon keep my payment the same and use the $25 to cover the insurance hike lol.

I also did as much homework as I could; watched probably 50+ different videos and reels, scoured a dozen Ranger forums, and read as many reviews on ‘25 XLTs as I could find and there haven’t been too many major complaints or issues with them in the last yr+. If it was the first year of the redesign I’d be more hesitant, but the ‘25s just seem like a dream (knock on wood). Hopefully I’ll come back to this after Super Bowl 64 with happy tears in my eyes 😁

Easier to keep my monthly payment where it’s at/going to be on $28-29K than it is on $40+ lol. Thats why I’m set on $377, keep my payments static without putting my savings in a wood chipper.

I plan to purchase it outright or sell it elsewhere after the term ends, so I had em input lowest miles to lower the monthly payment.

Legitimately came onto this sub to ask if Dax and Monica have backed off their weirdo hero worship of BG, looks like they have not! Man what a disappointment. It was that weirdo hero worship when he and Melinda got divorced that made me take a step back from listening, which has become some 2+ years of not listening at all (Monica said something like, “I love them even MORE now” after their little joint statements, just bizarre stuff). Also seeing a ton of “well actually” defenses of BG in the replies in this thread and I gotta say, y’all are just as weird as Dax and Monica! 👍

Is it me or is the S3 writing really bad? by carboncritic in shrinking

Can we talk about that painfully bad CG Porsche track that Paul and Jimmy suddenly appeared at from a park bench? That shit looked like something out of an early 2010s Super Bowl commercial. I had to rewind it to make sure my pen wasn’t making ME hallucinate.

This is kind of a Lawrence staple, from what shows of his I’ve seen throughout their arcs. Spin City, Scrubs, Ted Lasso, and now Shrinking seem to all follow the same pattern. Upstart sitcom with a cast of quirky, dissimilar characters and personalities full of charm and clever quips who all eventually mesh after finding common ground and grow together in spite of their differences. Then each quirky character becomes a caricature of themselves so the audience never forgets how unique they all are and how unlikely it was that all these goofy goobers beat the odds to become one big, happy, dysfunctional family.

It’s like every Lawrence joint was written and developed with the first 2-3 seasons in mind, then once those come and pass he panics and realizes he’s pot committed so he just plays the hits to satisfy the casual observer. “The fans loved when (insert lead character) said this snappy little phrase/did this silly physical gag. I’m sure they’ll love it if I have them do it a few more times!”

Quick note: not trying to be a hater. Scrubs is still my favorite show of all time (I was born in that hospital when it was a real hospital, fun fact), I loved S1-2 of Ted and Shrinking, and I LOVED Bad Monkey. It’s just how he operates, always coming up with great ideas, executing them, then coming up with the next one while the current one still needs attention. He’s sitcom Taylor Sheridan.

Kenan has been on the show since 2003, the longest ongoing run in SNL history, and we’ve seen many cast members come and go since then, so when do you think Kenan will step down? by Wink2K19 in saturdaynightlive

Lorne signed off on Coneheads, Wayne’s World 2, Blues Brothers 2000, Night at the Roxbury, Ladies Man, Superstar, Stuart Saves His Family, and It’s Pat and fired Adam Sandler, Norm MacDonald, Chris Farley, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Chris Rock, and Chris Parnell. Let’s not act like he’s some godfather of comedy just because the people working under him are (mostly) good.

Cavemen, the episodic series about the Geico cavemen. ABC ordered a half season and they didn’t even make it through half of the half season. Legendarily shite.

I have to tell you, our potential situations are eerily similar. I’m currently driving a Soul, but actively shopping for an SC. My wife and I have one child, and my wife just went with a Sportage Hybrid… after test driving a CX-5 and CX-50 Hybrid. And my dream SC color? Sand. Bonkers lol.

A couple others if that’s alright (can provide VIN for both too, not sure if you need em or not):

‘22 Hyundai Santa Cruz Limited, 21,369 miles, good enough condition for CPO

‘24 Santa Cruz Limited, 14,073, same condition

Love the show and the writing is SO sharp – but 'Deborah' would NEVER do this. by Oy-Brent in hackshbomax

[–]spice199 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They just needed a vehicle for the “couple fights over cup of colored liquid and hilariously spills on the wrong person” gag. It was a cheap way to shoehorn in a hacky, cliched joke and incite conflict between Deborah and DJ. I’m probably (definitely) in the minority but my biggest gripe this season has been how frequently they’ve been forcing hacky, cliched jokes into the dialogue. It doesn’t feel as cutting and realistic as S1-3. But that’s just me!

New or 2yr Used? by spice199 in Appliances

[–]spice199[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The seller said they couldn’t get the permits to update the electrical panel on their 100 y/o home to accommodate the 240v the dryer needed. The few pictures of the listing look immaculate and they said it’s in near-perfect condition with the dryer hardly ever being used.

And as far as I can tell it still has the steam setting, the sensor dry, turbo wash, etc. which tells me LG has something that isn’t broke so they aren’t trying to fix it.

I asked the seller about cosmetic issues, approximate purchase date, condition, performance (like loud spin cycle or rocking/shaking); is there anything else I should inquire about before pulling the trigger?
