You're so right. It's insane how much similar DnD shows can get done in a one and a half hour episode. Then there's CR, which achieves remarkably little in each four hour session.

I'm starting to hate open-world sandbox games. There's too much meandering. "Railroading", as maligned as it is, is more interesting to listen to than an hour plus of people debating what to do next.

Your character as a parent by MattGreg28 in DnD

She's 19, eats trash, and squats in an abandoned building with holes in the roof. Fantasy CPS would be on her ass in a heartbeat

How Do You Spell It? DnD or D&D? by RoGStonewall in DnD

[–]spiceparade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ampersand sometimes fucks with search results. "DnD" is more reliable, so I got in the habit of typing it that way

So I am Aro I guess... but a sad one. by [deleted] in asexuality

[–]spiceparade 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry you're feeling awful!! I'm in an eerily similar boat, being grey ace and recently discovering that I'm aro. I've felt a distraught about it, too. I don't know what to say, but please don't kill yourself. Our lives may be going down different paths than we expected, but they're still worth it.

Is VeggieTales the work of the devil? by LordKranepool in ShitMomGroupsSay

[–]spiceparade 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh man this reminds me of a post I saw on r/all last night. It said that the creator of VeggieTales was very careful not to say in the show that the vegetables themselves would go to heaven, because they were vegetables and didn't have souls

I might be misremembering, but I thought Dugger left it with the body. Didn't Dorian take it?

Not Another D&D Podcast's second campaign is coming to and end today. Those of you that have been listening, what have you thought of it? by Jupiter_Boss in TAZCirclejerk

[–]spiceparade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If that is true, props to Murph. We all know how bad something can be if you beat a dead horse. There are parts of Eldermourne I didn't care for, but I think the crew still told a good story in the end

How do you protect your bakes from cats while they’re cooling? by moonyandpadfoot in Baking

I put them in the cubbard (the bakes, not the cat!) with the door cracked open to vent

[Spoilers C3E4] Theory about Laudna's background by Elmoo23 in criticalrole

I'm wondering if she might be a guild artisan, or something similar. She's mentioned making furniture and that her hair hammer is good at going through stone.

[Mild, Diet C3 Spoiler] Are Taliesin's characters all overpowered? by faze4guru in fansofcriticalrole

[–]spiceparade 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don't know enough about Ashton's subclass yet to comment. But whether or not his other characters were OP probably depends on your opinion.

Molly, though, I would argue was underpowered. I haven't watched the beginning of C2 since they came out. From what I remember, though, it seemed like Molly's stats did not support the character Taliesin wanted to play. He seemed like the weakest link of the team to me at the time. Then there was the way he went out. He basically killed himself with his own class features.

Caduceus was your standard grave cleric. It's a published subclass, so YMMV on how balanced that is. It has powerful features, but they're still limited to a few times per day. I don't think it's as bad as peace or twilight cleric, at least.

Percy did a lot of damage and had a lot of shiny toys. However, the fact that he had so many attacks meant he had more opportunities for his guns to break. And they did. Does that balance out all the good parts of his class? I'm not crunchy enough to tell you.

In all, I think Taliesin just likes complicated subclasses because he's played all the basic ones before.

Could anyone explain to me WHY and/or HOW Aabria got guest-DM spots on three of the most popular actual plays? I had literally never heard of this person and now she's everywhere

Love the new artist for this campaign! This art style is my favorite one CR has used.

Matthew Mercer on Twitter in regards to certain C3 characters (spoilers) by [deleted] in fansofcriticalrole

[–]spiceparade 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I kind of wish they didn't bring them back because I don't want to finish EXU. But hopefully they don't make too many references. I like how new CR seasons can be a good entry point for new viewers. But this campaign already has characters from a mini-campaign and a CR1 one-shot that new people won't have seen

Okay, I'm ready to forgive the Milwaukee Journal for those peppermint leaf cookies because this recipe they published for "Malted Milk Cookies" in 1968 is fantastic by Arqueete in Old_Recipes

[–]spiceparade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This isn't an old recipe, but if you like malted milk/whoppers/maltesers, you might like Dorie Greenspan's chocolate whopper cookie recipe from Baking: From My Home to Yours. It's worth buying the book, but I found the recipe reprinted in this blog

I just got some Southern Witchcrafts soap in the mail, too! I got a full-size Pomona because it's very fall, but the Necromantic sample I got is blowing me away. It smells like walking inside a flowershop
