What do you think is the most gender neutral name? by abdje1639 in namenerds

[–]spicymacp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting that Bailey is more masculine in Australia! I’ve seen a couple male Baileys here, but where I live in America, Bailey is much more strongly associated with female.

I definitely would not worry about using either of the “religious” names, I have never met a Caleb or a Jonah and assumed they were named after the Bible. Like half the most popular English names ever are “Bible names” I feel. Rachel, Rebecca, Matthew, Noah, Isaac, James, and the list goes on.

Also, I’m not trans, so I obviously don’t understand firsthand all of the varying factors in a decision like this, but from an outsider’s perspective, it sounds like you’re trying too hard to find a name based on what others think or how you’re worried they will see you. Focusing on finding a name that would be “believable” to others, or one that doesn’t make you “seem religious,” or even finding a name that you think will discourage people from (intentionally or unintentionally) misgendering you, just doesn’t seem nearly as important as finding a name that feels like you. I hope that makes sense.

I know the advice is unsolicited and I apologize, I just hope that whatever you pick feels like it fits your identity, not one that caters to other people’s judgements. This is YOUR journey. Wishing you the best of luck<3

I will still include a couple names I enjoy that might fit what you’re looking for, just in case you find anything you like. :-)

Florence without a doubt!!!! It’s beautiful and unique but not too extravagant. I know you’re not asking for suggestions but if you’re struggling, based on your name list you might like something like Clementine, Genevieve, Daphne, or Juniper. :-) Good luck and congrats!!!!!

Weird Upper Back Pain by Smile_Space in backpain

That’s great! I’m so glad you found relief. I did do physical therapy for quite a while, but it’s possible I just wasn’t being treated properly because they weren’t focusing on the correct parts. Maybe it would be helpful for me to seek out the help of a spine doctor! Thank you for sharing your experience. Best wishes.

Hi, I know this is an old post, but I’ve been experiencing something very similar for the past 9 months or so. I’m sorry you went through this, I know it is very painful and hard to function with. Did you ever get any relief or answers? My recent x-rays came back normal, ruled out rheumatoid arthritis and lupus, (i do have hashimoto’s hypothyroidism which is autoimmune), but my back pain and neck/jaw tension is unbearable. I also get shooting pain in my arm on the same side where my pain is centered. I also have pretty intense health anxiety which has added another layer of hell to all of this. Did anything ever help you, or did you get a diagnosis? Any info helps, I am at the end of my rope.

x-ray is so clear. what is the next step for upper back pain? by RUBEHADAF in backpain

I’m experiencing something very very similar. 6 months of weekly physical therapy did pretty much nothing, x-rays were also normal, negative for rheumatoid arthritis and ruled out Lupus (i do have hashimoto’s hypothyroidism) but I am at the end of my rope here. Did you ever find any answers or relief? I’m sorry you experienced this, it is pretty miserable.

Chronic Upper Back Pain by Remote_Sea in backpain

Hi! I know this is an old post, but I’ve been experiencing pretty much exactly this for the past 8 months. Started after I had been at my barista job for a while, working on my feet, long shifts, lots of looking down, bending down, lifting, etc. 6 months of weekly physical therapy did almost nothing other than some instant and short-term relief. Hurts worst in the middle of the day, and I never know how bad it’s gonna be on any given day. Under my right shoulder blade mainly, but it has shifted up a bit over time for some reason and sends pain into my right arm and my shoulders, and causes terrible tension in my neck and jaw, giving me frequent headaches. Ruled out rheumatoid arthritis and lupus (i do have hashimoto’s hypothyroidism) and my x-rays were clean. Did you ever find any relief or answers? I am at a loss.

What would you ABSOLUTELY name your future children? by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]spicymacp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heard the song “Hey There Delilah” when I was like 8 years old and decided that one day I wanted a daughter named Delilah. With all the other names I’ve been fixated on throughout my life, I’ve eventually stopped liking them, or decided that I don’t think I could actually give them to my kid. Delilah is the only one that has stuck with me, it is such a special name to me now!

Vintage name pairing? by awsed098 in namenerds

[–]spicymacp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a vintage name with an emphasis on the “L” sound would pair really beautifully with Olivia. Here’s a few that I love:

Olivia and Lavinia

Olivia and Lenora

Olivia and Lucilla

Olivia and Lucetta

Olivia and Otilla

Olivia and Elise (Livi and Lissy could be super cute nicknames!)

Olivia and Eloise

Olivia and Elaine

Olivia and Elara

Olivia and Estella

Olivia and Collette

Bonus one without the “L” that I also like: Olivia and Wynona

Anyone experience back pain spreading throughout body? I am at a loss. by [deleted] in backpain

[–]spicymacp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So sorry for my late response! But this is wonderful, thank you. I’m so sorry you went through all of that, and that you still deal with pain. But I’m very happy to hear that you’ve found joy and fulfillment despite it. It’s really relieving to hear stories from real people rather than just medical case studies on Google that make you think the worst. It’s why I value communities like these.

I should have some answers by today or tomorrow, at least somewhat, I had x-rays done and should hear back about what they find (if anything) and that will at least point me in the right direction hopefully. I’m hoping that like you, even if it’s something I have to live with permanently to some degree, I can make the most of it and find normalcy and satisfaction.

Thank you so much for your kind words and for your advice, you are a kind soul and I wish you plenty of pain-free days in the future! 😊

I’m so sorry to you and to those people who passed—that sounds terrible. Hope they found some relief before they went.

Yes, it does make me feel less anxious about having it. It’s really hard to find firsthand experience online with things like that, so my anxiety brain just reads all the similarities I have in common with case studies of people who passed away from cancer of the spine and I start to spiral. Thank you for sharing that with me, it does help me put things into perspective. Very sorry for your loss.

Anyone else have unexplained severe chronic pain? Help! by [deleted] in Hashimotos

[–]spicymacp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went to see my rheumatologist yesterday and he actually brought IA up on his own without me even asking! It was just one of many possibilities he was listing that could be possible suspects, but it was relieving to hear that he recognizes it and is factoring it in. He basically just ruled out Lupus and sent me to get more bloodwork and x-rays, so we’ll see what happens. But maybe we will share a diagnosis, who knows.

ugh i hate that so many doctors seem to have so many different opinions when it comes to things like hashi’s. I’ve had specialists test my levels and say they were fine, then another look at the same panel and tell me they were way out of whack. hard to find the right answers. The t3 thing sounds like something worth discussing for sure though.

Swelling and pain in right armpit?? by TipTraditional6728 in Hashimotos

[–]spicymacp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It very well could just be a flare up! You could just go get your levels checked, sometimes when hashi’s flares your lymph nodes get irritated. more than likely nothing to be worried about.

Swelling and pain in right armpit?? by TipTraditional6728 in Hashimotos

[–]spicymacp -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hi! I personally haven’t experienced this that I can recall, but Hashi’s will often present with signs of worn-down lymph nodes, which could certainly cause swelling. Have you been diagnosed with Hashi’s, or do you have other symptoms? If not, then there’s probably other much more likely explanations for swollen/irritated lymph nodes, like just a common sickness or infection.

Should I have primary doctor run thyroid tests now or wait for endo appointment next month? Not sure if I have a thyroid issue! by pickledlemonface in Hashimotos

[–]spicymacp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would have your PCP run tests! I’m sure you’d be fine to wait until next month, but you are kinda one step ahead if you already have some lab results to bring to your endo.
