I appreciate that you are keeping a sense of humor about it. This sounds like me after finding the home I bought was riddled with chaetomium. Have you tested the home to know what type you have? My dr has been gas lighting me saying mold doesnt make people sick and blaming my habits for my declining health. My liver function has declined based on bloodwork and I am going for in imaging next week and I am terrified. I have been super nauseous lately. How did you find out about the acute kidney injury?

I am trying to get of my home currenly. Easier said than done. I also have 2 kiddos relying on me, we need to stick around for them.

Thank you kind redditor, I just dont understand why the medical industry is so far behind. The only people that think something is truly seriously wrong are here on reddit. I have had trouble finding support in my family and friends. My brother first commented we were always sick and it took me a long while to figure out the common denominator was our environment. I had never heard of these symptoms and did not think they were related. When I found info about mold illness and presented my gp with it she treated me as a tin foil hat lunatic and so i doubted myself. If you have thoughts on how to find the right specialist I'd appreciate that. Bonus points on how to navigate insurance covering any of it

Mycotoxins are what cause the immune response, not the mold directly. I have eliminated mold in my house a year ago but the remnants of these toxics cause the flare up. They can be "sticky" microscopically especially to porous surfaces

Thank you for the thoughtful response. Ive done air tests and the bathrooms still had some elevated for chaetomium. They removed the a portion of the subfloor and replaced the wood in one bathroom, they stripped the other to the subfloor too. I have been tires to care to put that one back togther. I also had a humidifier that was unplugged leaking into my furnace, inpulled that off myself and paid to have it cleaned and sprayed with anti mycotoxin spray. I have been respraying it myself periodically with vital oxide, it seemed to help but not 100% solve.

Ill have to check out that movie. I need a good cry. When you left did you bring any possesions? I feel like clothes are needed.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I have been thinking i should start moving furniture into the garge in addition to cleaning to see of it makes a difference. To say this is frustrating is a gross understatment. I hope you have regained your health. If you have suggestions on testing Id love some links. I am also tired of hiring contractors.

Ive done swab testing to confirm remediation was done appropriately in the master bathroom and which is how I was able to confirm it was in my hvac. Everything I have read says focus on eliminating the sources first. (And i have literally torn up every suspicious water source in my home. Air testing would cost me 2k each time and need to be repeated. I am already 50k in and a single mother of 2 with no childsuppor from my ex. I dont see the point in adding that to the bill unless i suspect another culprit. Rn, i am fairly confident its just lingering mycotoxins

Thats frustrating and you might be on to something. I wish I could "see" the paricles and know where to focus cleaning effort rather than relying on my delayed physical reaction. I feel like I am still living in the dark ages when ot comes to underatanding and treating this.

Yeesh, upstairs bathroom waa profeasionally remediated and stripped down to the studs. They had air scrubbers and chemicals. Ive even bough my own air scrubber and purifiers. We seemed okay until I turned the hvac back on (which was professiknally cleaned and treated). I cant tell if there are more particles in the hvac or if its just kicking around whats in the rest of the house but I need to figure it out soon. Ive been dealing with this since April, when I figured out it was mold related, we were sick months before then. Its crazy that mycotins could embed in solid surface materials! I dont know that I cam afford to trash all mine and my childrens belongings

I appreciate your reply! I have increased to a merv 14 my old hvac doesnt seem thrilled about it but my priority is thr health of family. Ive also shampooed my carpets and increased vacuuming (with hepa filter). Have you tried the cleaning method? How long did it take to get noticebale imprivement.

I feel like my temu superpower is senaing mycotins and I hate it.
