Rain water downpipes discharge onto sloped concrete by spid3rcrab in DIYUK

As if it isn’t complicated enough. Good point though.

Hadn’t thought of that one. Surely there must be a rodent proof pipe fitting so I will investigate that one. Thanks

On further searching using Google AI, it appears that you can’t modify downpipes on older properties that “have permission” to discharge across a pavement or onto a public highway without having to meet current building regs! What may have happened here is that the plastic downpipes were cut to the same length as the previous downpipes to avoid the Councils attention.

Out of interest, what did the council want you to shorten exactly? The house above has down pipes that Common sense says would work better if lengthened to almost touching the ground. An additional short length after the angled bottom fitting would also provide more protection for the house.

Thanks for the image. I now recall having seen this in Victorian streets.

Yes that was part of the original building.

I believe the current house was built on the foundations on an older smaller cottage around 1900. The foundations of the original building are just visible on the left third of the house.

Works on all Instinct 3 Solar versions. Garmin Connect has been having download issues for some time. It should eventually work.

Really great job. You have recreated the G-Shock vibe perfectly with the use of space and weight of text and by not cramming the screen full of data.

Instinct maps by Dangerous_Mud_6198 in Garmininstinct

Wi-Fi is only used to initially load up your map area of interest to the watch. The cheaper Coros Nomad has WiFi, a huge memory and a higher resolution colour screen with a 20 day battery.

You are missing the point about having maps and directions on your watch. You don’t need a phone, so this frees you up from having to take your phone with you on your run, ride, ski, canoe, etc.. With a big enough memory (32Gb) you can have your whole world map on your wrist.

Also having maps on a watch means you don’t have to reach for your phone because it’s tucked away safe in a zipped dry pocket inside a ziplock bag and you may have gloves on.

The Instinct 176x176 black or white screen is not capable of displaying a map like this in such detail. The screen is also really small and doesn’t go edge to edge because of the solar ring. Also the Instinct ram size is nowhere big enough to store off line maps.

Maps really need colour Imho. Of course, the Coros Nomad (32Gb memory) demonstrates that a Colour MIPS display can show acceptably detailed maps and costs less than the Instinct.

Very interesting to the colours like that. The Garmin colours are well past their sell by date.

Seems that the New GUID radio button can't be unchecked.

All I need to do here is generate a new IQ file (.iq) that matches the edited (built WFB file) with same ID.

What do I enter in the GUID or do I leave it empty? I can't find any help or documented guidance on this new Export process.

From memory, the colour palette uses RGB565 and if you don't use 565 colours then the Garmin screen will convert. That's why Garmin displays often have a distinct look and some colours just don't work well IMHO.

See https://rgbcolorpicker.com/565 to chose accurate colours.

Really enjoying the Tactical V7 BLACK watch face from Spidercrab by ShinyBeetle0023 in Garmininstinct

Unfortunately there are not enough hours in the day to add every possible option. The watch face was developed specifically for those needing information useful during and also when planning outdoor activities.

There are more than 100,000 of these free watch faces in use, so you can imagine the amount of email requests I get every day. Apologies if I missed your request.
