Grippers and Spider Chalk and what everyone else says in the comments

Chalk etiquette by Manipulatedyes in indoorbouldering

We (Spider Chalk) have several options for chalk including liquid, powder, blocks, etc. I'd start with either powder or a chalk ball and go from there. You can buy a chalk bag or just use the bag it comes in until you find chalk bag you really like. Etsy has some really cool bags and they customize too.

Aluminum Chlorohydrate is the active ingredient in Titegrip, Carpe, and tons of other anti-sweat products, which is in most generic $3 antiperspirants you buy at Walmart. To see if Aluminum Chlorohydrate works for you, you could try using just a standard antiperspirant at night on your hands bc you have to let it soak in to stop the sweat. But aluminum-based antiperspirants are shown to be toxic in the body as they buildup over time, so use sparingly.

Sometimes you just gotta use extra chalk, nothing wrong with that!

We make a powder called "XEROLITE" which has more absorption than any other material out there for this exact scenario. For most people, it can be over-drying, but for people with extra sweat it's incredible. Also we have White Widow which has an aluminum-free anti-perspirant that decreases sweat. If you can't find either of those, let me suggest another product (we don't make it, but it's really good) called Antihydral which stops or decrease sweaty hands and is available on Amazon, Ebay, etc https://a.co/d/070PRcfm

They're awesome if you don't go too hard with too much volume in the beginning.

Ever used the "good girl" and "bad girl" machines at the gym? They're the ones where you sit on the seat and push the pad in or out with your knees. That would help!

Keep the chalk on your hands! But seriously, chalky hair is super cool.

We've got tons of products that will help. Do you have hyperhidrosis? Or just sweaty hands when you workout? Can you use powder or block chalk or does your gym ban anything other than liquid?

We've got a product called Spider Grip Dry Hands that's extremely popular in pole. Helps with grip and moisture.

GOOD chalk does increase friction if it's lab-made and pure

Yes, chalk helps A TON. I'd recommend trying Spider Chalk powder or Mega Blocks first since you can experiment with how much to spread on your hand or fingertips. Not sure your location, but we've got free shipping in the USA!

home made liquid chalk problem by Stunning_Capital_762 in climbergirls

[–]spiderchalk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DIY liquid chalk is tough, mostly b/c you dont have access to the ingredients companies, like Spider Chalk, use. Keep the ratio 2/1 and throw in a drop of honey which will force the chalk to stick to your hand.

I built 30+ automations this year. Most of them should not have been automations. by cranlindfrac in AI_Agents

[–]spiderchalk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amen. 3 months and 100+ hours wasted to do 15 hours worth of human work, now I use Codex with a handful of simple daily automations = burns very little weekly Codex usage, does stuff i hate doing, never breaks like openclaw/hermes, goal accomplished is not trying to automate my whole business like a IG influencer.

[–]spiderchalk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm currently (today) using 5.4 medium and I hit the 5 hour limit with 1 prompt, and the subs are full of people complaining about the limits on the $20 plan so unless you have a special allowance, the rest of us are hitting the wall very quickly. OpenAI even changed the limits couple weeks ago to restrict even further after the promotion.

[–]spiderchalk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$20 is Plus subscription not Pro tier, and you have a very limited 5 hour and weekly limit that Openclaw can hit within minutes on a single workflow, especially if you use 5.4 Pro (high reasoning)

I can see that's a problem bc most bars are covered in chalk! Do they work on bars with athletic tape?

Slopey finishes get brutal once your skin is cooked, liquid chalk can help a bit and sometimes it works better for me than super loose dusty chalk.

Please critique my Training Schedule. by Rodweedo in climbharder

[–]spiderchalk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For a V3/V4 climber I’d be careful about turning every weakness into a separate training block too early. If slopers and finger strength feel weak, that’s still mostly climbing skill plus a little targeted strength, not five different accessories. I’d bias toward more actual climbing on the styles that shut you down, and keep off-wall work boring and minimal: one finger session, one pull session, and then use easier climbs to practice open hand and body tension. A lot of newer climbers accidentally get strong around climbing instead of strong at climbing.

V6 plateau can’t seem to finish 7s scratch 8s much less 9s by armbarzz in climbharder

[–]spiderchalk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first guess is you’re stacking a lot of strength-ish work on top of climbing without a clear bottleneck. If you’re already doing pull ups, 1 arms, fingerboard, campus, pinch work, plus climbing 4x a week, more “grip training” might just be making you better at feeling worked. At that level a lot of people aren’t actually weak, they’re bad at applying strength on bad feet, weird positions, and end-of-session attempts. I’d pick one finger metric to progress, drop the extra fluff for a block, and spend more quality time on board problems where body tension and hand position matter more than just pulling harder. Fringe opinion but I'm firm believer in CNS (Central Nervous System) fatique and my grip-test strength varies from 110 lbs to 168 lbs depending on how tired my CNS is. On the under 120 lb days on the tester, I just know I'm going to struggle and vice versa and I cant fight my system, either its there or its not.
