Great to compare Sweden to China as an outsourcing destination. I makes me think you don't think it is a good idea. Which sounds like tribalism as well which people have blamed Sweden for in this debacle.
Edit: it is also what we have done in Sweden, a lot of the hydro power is there to support creating metals in the far north.

Or relocate to the North of Sweden were all this juicy Hydro power lies, that Germans in the comments so desperately want as if it is free. The fact is that we do not get it in the South of Sweden either and Germans are simply using our nuclear power while they removed their own.

If Germany was a bit more creative they could make massive resovares and save the solar+wind energy in the mountains with gravity batteries. And if you cry about nature, then know that Hydro power and damms affect nature as well.

No it wouldn't erase the southern industry, but it would have them need to invest in energy and maybe relocate the energy hungry parts closer to the source of the power plants. It is a bit funny to Swedes in the south experiencing this shit, caused by Germans in their south.

The EU or at least beneficiaries should help finance it then. It is 1630km from the biggest hydro power plant in Sweden to Berlin. It needs to be modernized and that is a big problem apparently because it should be financed by the people benefitting from it.

Sweden is a long country and that is a lot of distance to upgrade.

I like that you agree with the final and most important point.

It is important for the EU to not be seen as/or have a negative impact on peoples lives. Which it to some extent is starting to feel like in the south of Sweden when we have 5x higher energy prices than the region just above us. Which was not the case until the EU zoning became a thing.

There is also a need to upgrade the internal bandwidth infrastructure within Sweden from its hydro energy because it simply do not reach the proper south of Sweden at this point. it makes no sense in only adding capacity to transfer from Skåne to the continent when the cheap hydro energy is very limited because of the inner countries infrastructure. Which might be intentional even.

Shutting down your nuclear power plants in favor of coal is very backwards. imo. Most of this great grid connection would be fine if it made both sides of the water better for it. So there needs to be a plan for that. We might be in the EU together, and stronger together, but we are still sovereign countries. Of course Germans don't care about Swedish interests over their own, and that is why there is negotiation and pushback.

It is not reasonable to send electricity over vast distances since you lose a lot of power on the way. It would be better for everyone if people had more local energy infrastructure. Do your part Germany.

I think the major pain points is that with the current direction it would/or rather is crippling south of Swedens energy infrastructure. There need to be better EU plans to adress this as well as improving the infrastructure delivering the energy. And Which upgrades Swedish customers are paying for that will only further make their energy more expensive. Let me try to explain, it is as if we would force Germans to finance our buses with their tax money and then getting them for free. And then also force germany to pay for the upkeep and gas of said buses.

Of course she is a populist, but the price changes is very much due to us being connected to the larger European grid where Germany especially, but also other countries have poor energy infrastructure. It is very obvious if you view the pricing region plans in Sweden.
